He suffers of bad breath control while live, the small debt of his voice is computer generated, he got a monotone voice (that's not a question of taste, on actual singing you're not supposed to keep the same note all the way trough a song, especially not on all the song of an album) and he doesn't seem to know how to express emotion while singing. Got famous for his look and his little-girl-friendly lyrics. That's not hating, pop all around is what I just said.

Also, I believe the word you are looking for is "depth" not "debt". To expand on that, why would he release an acoustic album? He also doesn't write the lyrics, but they are girl friendly because that is his demographic. He's not trying to impress people twice his age. But yes, most pop is like how you said.
