It is obvious Infante and Nigel wanted to rejoin Blondie for the reunion in the late 90's for money as the main purpose! But the other members wanted to keep them out because they did not want to split the money that many ways ,that is the reason for both sides MONEY!

i have to say that although i'm a Blondie fan and always will be, i've lost alot of respect for Debbie Harry because of her denying Nigel Harrison & Frank Infante a chance to play together as Blondie for the first time in years. They deserved better respect than what debbie showed them at the induction ceremony that night. for their contirbution to blondie, debbie should have treated them with greater respect.

Whoever is responsible for putting artists like James Brown, Ray Charles, Run DMC and the Beastie Boys in the the Rock and Roll hall of fame are true dissappointments. It should be reserved only for for ROCK BANDS not artists from other genres who collaborate with rock bands or whose skills surpass the stage performance (James Brown) of any rock musician. They should make separate hall of fames for each genre.

@breezy4852 Yeah dude, it sucks. :/ Only reason why they're in there is because they're probably the only rock band that didn't sound like what the record company wanted them to sound like. If they just stuck with regular rock the whole time instead of making 10-20 minute songs, they probably would have been in. the Hall of Fame don't like concept songs and progressive artists for some reason.

@LegionOf3 Although I'm almost certain all members of the Sex Pistols hated all prog rock and that sort of heavy metal, I do enjoy their response. And it hasn't really got to do with Rock and Roll any more, its more of modern music in general. And I do think prog rock is a bit overrated, but Pink Floyd made some pretty good music.

While I was disappointed that Frank,Nigel and Gary weren't allowed to play alongside the current lineup of Blondie it wasn't a total surprise.They did attempt to sue Debbie and Chris Stein a few years back after all and that sort of thing tends to sourrelationships!But the fact remains that they were members during the classic and most successful era of the group,which the induction was most likely based on.A shame :-(

Great point, atomicPipe. Debbie Harry lost all my respect by denying original/early members not to perform, even along with the new band mates. She's a well known personality and will always have that. To deny those two men a brief moment of glory in honor of receiving an award for their contribution was disgusting. What a phony.

Nigel and Frankie Made Fools Out of themselves, Its Kinda Hard to Play with Frankie when A) He Sued the Band when they were still together in 1981 and again in 97 and Nigel was just a Debbie Downer (no pun intended). Gary Valentine was kicked out Twice and still put on a Happy face as did Destri. Frankie and Nigel were big parts of Blondie but not big enough to overcome what they did. LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!

Blondie has been active and touring long after they left the band, why should the current line up who is putting in the work and keep the band alive be forced to sit out? It makes perfect sense to me that Blondie, the current Blondie, get to play. The other two aren't in the band anymore, tough they need to deal with it, and it was pathetic on THEIR part not Debbie's.

Were they being inducted based on albums like "No Exit" or do you think they were there because of albums like "Parallel Lines" and "Eat to the Beat"?

@TechnicalEvaluation ...also, your argument might make sense if we we talking about someone who was only in the band for a brief blip during their true heyday, but Infante and Harrison did 3/4 albums with the band during the period of time that eventually made them R&R HoF-worthy. As a Blondie fan, I'd rather see the originators play than hired hands. PS- the "stunt" Blondie guitar work was Infante. The riff on "Atomic", the lead on "One Way or Another", etc. He deserved to play it @ the HoF.

The Only "Original" Member that I wish was still in Blondie would be Jimmy Destri but then again I Love Matt on Keyboards. Panic of Girls is an AMAZING RECORD as a REAL BLONDIE FAN WOULD KNOW!!! Also, Maria is a Great song. I LOVE ALL Blondie New and Old. But if you don't wanna enjoy Blondie then thats your choice.

The fans don't give a shit about them and they sure as hell are not being paid as though they were real members either. Your history is flawed too. Blondie had broken up for 10-15 years and then Debbie and Chris tried to reform it and not include first Frank and then Nigel. Gary Valentine was dumped again too. We want to see the real deal- not these side hacks.

Nigel, did great things with the band but was only with em for 4 years. Also, Chris and Debbie had been Working with Leigh since the late 80s. Jimmy Destri is the Only One who I wish was still in the band because he is an Original Member and He has been clean for 6 years but then again Matt Katz Bohen is Awesome and Blondie 2011 Rocks! They both were with the band from 1977-1982,that is the bulk of the time the band even existed ,blondie got started in 1975 and ended in 1982! Nigel and Infante performed and were on the two albums(and others) that without blondie would not even be in the RR hall of fame without Autoamerican and Parallel lines!The honest truth Infante and Nigel should have been allowed to perform at the Hall of fame..remember they were being inducted too regardless..
