I miss the old siren that used to be there before that Whelen was put up. There used to be one at the old water tower at the north end of town, and another where this one is now.
hey Ian how are you the old siren was took down it is being rebuilt we used it as our old fire whistle we are going to reinstall it @ fire station #1 near the old water tower in the north part of town as for the whelen it is about 4 blocks west of rbc bank all dooly whelens are tstsed the 2nd Wednesday of the month
Ah sweet! Glad to hear it didn't go to scrap, that's what I was worried about. I pass that siren every day going to work, never heard it up close though, just from the shop. We'll have to meet up next test and see if we can't catch a better test!
During the Cold WarI lived next to a fire station that had a air-raid siren 60 feet up on a telephone pole. They would test it every Saturday at noon. It would make your bones vibrate when it was sounding.
Sorry For the Movement i was At the city hall when the Siren came on i didn't get a good shot of the siren but the audio was great i will try to get a better shot @ next months test this is the first time in a while the siren has worked i wanted to video record it
