You are right about the leak pottential, In second project I reformed the design of windows completely. Hope I dont make this mistakes in the real project.
The windows on your roof look like they would be a major leak or break hazard with a snow load on them or forming ice dams. Possibly place small dormers or fixed awnig over each window. At least it could be a problem in North Western Maine/Quebec area.

Real Cabin has been my dream for last 2 years. I wil build it asap.
