My first Rage shot 20 yds Pass-through, double lung. Went 30 yards and stayed on his feet 45 seconds. Both lungs were nearly cut into thirds. 2nd Rage shot was not perfect, I don't know if she turned while "jumping the string" or if it was just wishful thinking that she was actually broadside. Entered left front shoulder high, exited right rear ham to the fletching. Missed all the vitals. She went 300 yards. I suspect I nicked the major arteries running high along the spine. Rage works!

for shits and giggles i shot one of my rages at my burlap cube up against my halfinch pine fence, it went clean through the cube..passed through the fence and skidded down the driveway to the road. my bow is set at a mere 60 lbs and my draw length is 34 inches
I will say that I don't like Rage Broad heads or any really expandable for that matter. Not because they don't work but because I just like seeing the blades up and ready. Make me more confident. But shooting piece of plywood isn't a good test of what a broadhead will do. Toughness sure but nowhere near a real world test. Oh and if you buy rage you may as pick up a dozen orings while your at it.
The RAGE broadhead is a great broadhead if you're hunting fawns and does and if you don't hit any bones on a mature 3+ year old buck. I have bad exper. w/ this RAGE. Last yr, lost a 2 1/2 yr. old 8 pt. buck cuz. RAGE didn't open up. Last weekend, lost a mature 3+ yr. old 10 pt. buck cuz. didn't get complete pass thru. I shot from 15 yds. at the buck and heard loud "crack" cuz. I hit ribs, liver and at least one lung. Lost the buck, had no blood trail. WILL NEVER SHOOT rage AGAIN.!!!!!

@smeesta16 I'm shooting 60# on my Mathews DXT. I've shot mature does thru the shoulder and had complete pass thru but then again that was a doe. A mature buck now is just all muscle and bones. Ok, so some kid with a draw length of 26", and only pulling 30lbs, should not be shooting a deer in the shoulder. Why do people complain about the o ring, it does what it is suppose to do. You don't have to buy the whole kit to get more o rings you can go to your local hardware store and get them pretty cheap, around 15 cents a pop.
Actually had a 180 class 2x4 come by my stand the other day, thank god I wasn't using these broadheads right??.... This isn't nearly as accurate as people would like to think it is... YES deer do have bones, but they also have areas where they are vulnerable, like behind the shoulder, last time I checked the heart wasn't wood.... just sayin'
What is your arrow weight & arrow speed? Even shooting a 50lbs bow, especially if you have a short draw length, you might not be getting the 40lbs of Kinetic Energy if your arrow is too lite. The best broadhead in the world sitting on top of an ultra-lite arrow wont penetrate crap. Before I called a broadhead crap I would up my arrow weight and see what that does for penetration. My opinion the lower poundage a bow is the more your arrow should weigh.

Rage are excellent broadheads but it also helps if your bow shoots over 200 fps.. at your poundage and speed of bow you should probably stick to a fixed blade like mx3 or 4.. Then once your older and can pull higher poundage and shoot a bow with speed try out rage and I guarantee your mind will change
Well first off you hunt deer with rages not plywood. I have numerous whitetail and elk that have fallen to the rage 2 blade 2". The only deer I ever lost was my own fault do to a poor shot. All of the animals I made a good shot on went down in sight. If you want to cut plywood buy a skillsaw, if you want to kill deer shoot a rage.
I went out today with my bow tech assasin pulling 70 and got a 4x8.....sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. got good penetration and didn't have to track it. Im going to quit hunting animals this is easier

you are shooting plywood. why? that does not simulate any form of body tissue. my bow goes through 2 inch concrete pulling 94 pounds. (which was an accident, by another friend). your bow barely did an inch penetration. i doubt its a 50lb bow. it may go that high, but when this was done there is simply no way it was 50lb
Thats like making a straight spine shot it never even had a chance to deploy. Thats particle board its much harder to get through than a small deer bone, plus your not going to hit solid bone. Just try these two words. SHOT PLACEMENT, and I bet that Rage makes a pass through with a nice little blood bath
Why do people shoot rage??? Slip cams equal loss of penetration for lower poundage bows. The rage has it's origins from an actually flawless design. It was designed after the Rocky Mountain Gator. This company was bought by Rage. Here is the good news, Bass pro bought the design and has them made under their redhead name. They now have the same tips as the Rage but a better opening design with NO O RINGS. People have been using these for 20 years, and they were the best to begine with.
I put a rage THROUGH a boar's spine. Pass-through! Shoot what you want, but I have shot about 13 of these and not ONCE has one failed to open or penetrate. They aren't made to shoot through plywood.... Regardless of what poundage you are pulling. Also, rage gives you extra O-rings. They come off on purpose. Try that with your fixed blade, dunce.

lol not a bad video kid. ppl have some pro's and con's comments. but in over all its a matter of opinion i guess. over my years of bowhunting ive tried alot and have used rage as well, never had no problem with them, they do make one heck of a blood trail, but as with any sharp well placed shot, they will all do the same. keep in mind when i started bowhunting when i was 12, now 42 recurves and round wheels/round cams where the choice, just think how it was to bowhunt then up to now. lol.
I shot 3 deer with rage broadheads last year all 3 good broadside hits all 3 tough recovery jobs! rage broadheads are shitty I will never recommend them to anyone or ever hunt with them again! if you want a good expandable broadhead go with WASP Jakk Hammers they work much better.

Rage broadheads blow. Look at the cabelas website and check out their product reviews. I have personal experience with them too. I will NEVER use them hunting. Blades are finicky. especially on the 3 blade.

I have nothing bad to say about your test though. Everyone should test and see which work the best for you. We do not need wounded animals running around. Only reaction to other comments are. Yes you can kill a deer with lower poundage, but it takes 41 pounds to go through a whitetail. Less will kill, but dont take longer shots over 20 yards. You will have less of a chance to retrieve. Good luck with finding a broadhead that will work for you and good luck hunting
To point out that yes everyone has difereent result to all broad heads. I personally will never use muzzys again I have lost many deer with them. I have never lost a deer on rage. Things that can change your test are is your bow tunes. The arrow was kicking to the side which slows the arrow on impact. The type of bow makes no difference, as long as it is shooting true. the o ring is suppose to breatk. It will not always break, but will that is why they come with 3 extras when you buy them
For those of you who do not know, the compressional strength of bone is greater than steel reinforced concrete. Obviously, the compressional strength of steel reinforced concrete is MUCH higher than particle board.This being said, if a Rage will not effectively penetrate a piece of particle board (which is much weaker than true plywood), then it will COMPLETELY STOP in mid flight if it contacts a bone in the body of a deer. Grim Reaper broad heads are far superior. Nothing wrong with this video.
first of all for rage broad heads to expand there is a certaint poundage u have to pull for them to expand usually 60 to 70 pounds and i am almost positive u aint pulling that

Watch any hunting show that advertises the "Rage BH" and you see only 10% pass through with the arrow deflecting or still sticking out of the side of the deer. So be it 50 lbs or 70 lbs Deep penetration isn't completely on the bow or the shooter. It's on the overall equation.

i've used rage 2 blade broadheads for the last 3 seasons, and harvested 5 deer. only one time did i not get a complete pass-through, and even then, 1)it was not a well placed shot and 2) the doe only ran 70 yards. the furthest one has ran on me was 80 yards, and the shortest was about 25. going through ribs has not been a problem, so just aim behind the front leg... you know, where you're supposed to. they have performed for me, so i will stick with them until they do otherwise.
Not understanding why everyone is declaring his bow junk. If you can tell the quality of his bow from the half a second it is shown in the video you're incredible. Contrary to popular belief, it only takes 35-40 pounds of draw weight to kill a deer. You can get a pass through with that weight. If the broadhead won't penetrate plywood, what's it gonna do if it hits a bone? Deer DO have bones. They don't have plywood on them, but there are a lot of bones. Point is, the penetration of a rage sucks.

I've killed 5 deer using a rage 3-blade, pass through on all of them, not one of them ran over 30 yards. and yes deer DO have bones but if you shoot a deer where they are supposed to be shot the few bones in that area of the body are mostly ribs and can easily be broken with a 45-50 lb bow

I have shot the rage for a few years now.I shot a 400# plus wild boar last year and the broadhead passed through.I shoot an Elite GT500 70# 418 gr.arrow.Hit the hog in the hart,broke tha off side shoulder.Have killed a number of big deer with it as wellI have never had penetration problems with the rage.
first of all...its not about deep penetration..its about the expansion of the blades within the vital area to cause bleeding..if you hit 2.3/4in into the deer youll cut a vital..so basically hitting plywood which is much harder and absorbs more energy than deerskin and meat is a terrible test. you want the broadhead to penetrate about 4inches max, and stick there to bleed. if you want deep penetration go ahead and shoot right through deer all the time..you wont find any of them.
C UT THE KID SOME SLACK -Accuracy is the the key, his setup aside he is a youngster hes supost shoot whats comfortable for him in lbs. That setup will kill game all day long if theyre shot in the right spot at the right yardage. If shot in the shoulder even with a fixed blade and that setup wouldnt work. Aim small miss small have fun. I shoot these and they work for me.

Look at the swacker broadheads test through a steel barrel and the rage breaks every time and the swacker is perfect. Swacker is my broadhead of choice
I shot a deer at 15 yards last year, my arrow with a Rage blew right threw the deer but DIDNT DEPLOY NO blood No nothing never found the deer so i them junk ass broadheads in the trash and I went back to Muzzys, I shot one doe and one 150 class buck later on last year, Never ran more than 30 yards. RAGE IS THE BIGGEST LIE IN HUNTING BORADHEADS AND IF YOU DONT THINK SO U HAVENT USED THEM ENOUGH.

I have used them exclusively for years now; and these things make holes like hatchet wounds. Maybe you got a defective one, but I've put down deer, turkey, and some pretty decent hogs so you could say I have used them enough. By the way, if you have anymore of those sorry rages your thinking about trashing, I have some Muzzy 4 blades I'll trade you for em.

I would have to say that your test is not done very well. What animal has a 3/4 shoulder? The rage is not meant to be shot at the shoulder. All you have to do is shoot it behind the front should and you will get your animal

But shooting piece of plywood isn't a good test of what a broadhead will do. Toughness sure but nowhere near a real world test. The RAGE broadhead is a great broadhead if you're hunting fawns and does and if you don't hit any bones on a mature 3+ year old buck. I have bad exper. w/ this RAGE. Last yr, lost a 2 1/2 yr. old 8 pt. buck cuz. RAGE didn't open up. Last weekend, lost a mature 3+ yr. old 10 pt. buck cuz. didn't get complete pass thru. I shot from 15 yds. at the buck and heard loud "crack" cuz. I hit ribs, liver and at least one lung. Lost the buck, had no blood trail. WILL NEVER SHOOT rage AGAIN.!!!!!

What is your arrow weight & arrow speed? Even shooting a 50lbs bow, especially if you have a short draw length, you might not be getting the 40lbs of Kinetic Energy if your arrow is too lite. The best broadhead in the world sitting on top of an ultra-lite arrow wont penetrate crap. Before I called a broadhead crap I would up my arrow weight and see what that does for penetration. My opinion the lower poundage a bow is the more your arrow should weigh.

Rage are excellent broadheads but it also helps if your bow shoots over 200 fps.. at your poundage and speed of bow you should probably stick to a fixed blade like mx3 or 4.. Then once your older and can pull higher poundage and shoot a bow with speed try out rage and I guarantee your mind will change

Well first off you hunt deer with rages not plywood. I have numerous whitetail and elk that have fallen to the rage 2 blade 2". The only deer I ever lost was my own fault do to a poor shot. All of the animals I made a good shot on went down in sight. If you want to cut plywood buy a skillsaw, if you want to kill deer shoot a rage.

(which was an accident, by another friend). your bow barely did an inch penetration. i doubt its a 50lb bow. it may go that high, but when this was done there is simply no way it was 50lb

Why do people shoot rage??? Slip cams equal loss of penetration for lower poundage bows. The rage has it's origins from an actually flawless design. It was designed after the Rocky Mountain Gator. This company was bought by Rage. Here is the good news, Bass pro bought the design and has them made under their redhead name. They now have the same tips as the Rage but a better opening design with NO O RINGS. People have been using these for 20 years, and they were the best to begine with.

I put a rage THROUGH a boar's spine. Pass-through! Shoot what you want, but I have shot about 13 of these and not ONCE has one failed to open or penetrate. They aren't made to shoot through plywood.... Regardless of what poundage you are pulling. Also, rage gives you extra O-rings. They come off on purpose. Try that with your fixed blade, dunce.

Rage broadheads blow. Look at the cabelas website and check out their product reviews. I have personal experience with them too. I will NEVER use them hunting. Blades are finicky. especially on the 3 blade.

I have nothing bad to say about your test though. Everyone should test and see which work the best for you. We do not need wounded animals running around. Only reaction to other comments are. Yes you can kill a deer with lower poundage, but it takes 41 pounds to go through a whitetail. Less will kill, but dont take longer shots over 20 yards. You will have less of a chance to retrieve. Good luck with finding a broadhead that will work for you and good luck hunting

To point out that yes everyone has difereent result to all broad heads. I personally will never use muzzys again I have lost many deer with them. I have never lost a deer on rage. Things that can change your test are is your bow tunes. The arrow was kicking to the side which slows the arrow on impact. The type of bow makes no difference, as long as it is shooting true. the o ring is suppose to breatk. It will not always break, but will that is why they come with 3 extras when you buy them

For those of you who do not know, the compressional strength of bone is greater than steel reinforced concrete. Obviously, the compressional strength of steel reinforced concrete is MUCH higher than particle board.This being said, if a Rage will not effectively penetrate a piece of particle board (which is much weaker than true plywood), then it will COMPLETELY STOP in mid flight if it contacts a bone in the body of a deer. Grim Reaper broad heads are far superior. Nothing wrong with this video.

Watch any hunting show that advertises the "Rage BH" and you see only 10% pass through with the arrow deflecting or still sticking out of the side of the deer. So be it 50 lbs or 70 lbs Deep penetration isn't completely on the bow or the shooter. It's on the overall equation.
Mainly the advertisers and Rage Broadhead makers win.

i've used rage 2 blade broadheads for the last 3 seasons, and harvested 5 deer. only one time did i not get a complete pass-through, and even then, 1)it was not a well placed shot and 2) the doe only ran 70 yards. the furthest one has ran on me was 80 yards, and the shortest was about 25. going through ribs has not been a problem, so just aim behind the front leg... you know, where you're supposed to. they have performed for me, so i will stick with them until they do otherwise.

Not understanding why everyone is declaring his bow junk. If you can tell the quality of his bow from the half a second it is shown in the video you're incredible. Contrary to popular belief, it only takes 35-40 pounds of draw weight to kill a deer. You can get a pass through with that weight. If the broadhead won't penetrate plywood, what's it gonna do if it hits a bone? Deer DO have bones. They don't have plywood on them, but there are a lot of bones. Point is, the penetration of a rage sucks.

I have shot the rage for a few years now.I shot a 400# plus wild boar last year and the broadhead passed through.I shoot an Elite GT500 70# 418 gr.arrow.Hit the hog in the hart,broke tha off side shoulder.Have killed a number of big deer with it as wellI have never had penetration problems with the rage.

first of all...its not about deep penetration..its about the expansion of the blades within the vital area to cause bleeding..if you hit 2.3/4in into the deer youll cut a vital..so basically hitting plywood which is much harder and absorbs more energy than deerskin and meat is a terrible test. you want the broadhead to penetrate about 4inches max, and stick there to bleed. if you want deep penetration go ahead and shoot right through deer all the time..you wont find any of them.

I shot a deer at 15 yards last year, my arrow with a Rage blew right threw the deer but DIDNT DEPLOY NO blood No nothing never found the deer so i them junk ass broadheads in the trash and I went back to Muzzys, I shot one doe and one 150 class buck later on last year, Never ran more than 30 yards. RAGE IS THE BIGGEST LIE IN HUNTING BORADHEADS AND IF YOU DONT THINK SO U HAVENT USED THEM ENOUGH.

@duckcaller1 Not saying your experience is not valid, but I've yet to fail at killing anything I put a rage broadhead in. I have used them exclusively for years now; and these things make holes like hatchet wounds. Maybe you got a defective one, but I've put down deer, turkey, and some pretty decent hogs so you could say I have used them enough. By the way, if you have anymore of those sorry rages your thinking about trashing, I have some Muzzy 4 blades I'll trade you for em.

@ezbite1 deer have shoulders, this is what the test was about...i understand ou dont have to shoot the shoulder but it gives you alot more angles if you can

So first of all you pull back probalbly 35 pounds, ITS WOOD NOT FLESH, and the o-right is supposed to come off because the blades slightly slit the o ring or tear it when it hits on impact so there fore do a vid on you shooting a mans bow and learning how to shoot a mans broad head

I would have to say that your test is not done very well. What animal has a 3/4 shoulder? The rage is not meant to be shot at the shoulder. All you have to do is shoot it behind the front should and you will get your animal

@ohiomonsters1990 diamond razor edge by bowtech-goes up to 309 fps, not the fastest in the world but plenty. the bow was set a 49 lbs at the time and i would gladly step back 10+ yards to show you another fail

@dillonhenderson if your shooting a 40ke you have less than 45 lbs or choder arms...every bows ibo speed is known when they shoot at 70 pounds and a lite arrow

@534810 Wow, i guess i will have have to say it again...i shot the rage 40ke which is made for bows that shoot under 40ke and at the time i made this video i was shootind right on 40 . not misuse. im gonna stick with g5 strikers where i can shoot the shoulder just fine and stil get great bloodtrails

leave the kid alone...hes got an expensive habbit lol Kid stop shooting particle board with your broadheads, its a pricey test that doesnt prove shit. Deer skin is alot different than wood my friend......test the head on a deer on a video then put your kill on here and show these guys up. Then when you hit puberty you can shoot a heavier bow and your voice wont sound like that anymore
