@UnknownAnnihilation Thanks! I guess maybe (being charitable!) it's just that they don't like the rather poor film quality and static camera. I think the music works though...... Best wishes, Steve
@mpiskotos In this video it's Sooperlooper software running within Logic on a Macbook pro, controlled by a Behringer 1010 foot pedal. Bass line is from Roland PK5 bass pedals. I still use Sooperlooper, but am trying running it through Ableton Live at the moment. Current pedals are either a Gordius LG or a Softstep, plus the PK5.
@lodevijk Many thanks! I was cautious about using too much technology at first, but I love the freedom it gives me to experiment with interesting arrangements and new pieces. Best wishes, Steve
yo are you gigging like this regularly? because you should be. Its sad I need to watch someone create the music from loops to sit through seven minutes of classical music (its not that old i know), but i dont mind. keep it up.
Glad you liked it! Yes - I'm gigging looped violin fairly regularly at the moment. You can get details from my website, stevebingham.co.uk. Thanks for commenting. Best wishes, Steve
Thats a very inspiring arrangement Steve. Bravo! I'm not musically gifted but I'm glad lotsa terrific folks like you in the world are. Keeping making those sweet tunes.
On this video I was using a Behringer FCB1010 to control Sooperlooper on a Macbook. I currently use a Gordius Little Giant to control the same software.
I'm using Roland PK-5A bass pedals for the bass: Yes, just one octave, though you can change which octave it is.... Glad you like the video. Best wishes, Steve
Only really dealt with Minimalist music in my GCSE and to be honest they don't really pick the best...but this is Great. One man as well. Great work, loved it.
Good playing. In certain ways I'd still rather just see fiddle played, with a foot drum added,at most. I tend to hold off on electronics (like looping) most of the time, in my playing (guitar piano mandoilin banjo ar my main weapons of choice), but, this is definitely is a way to be an orchestra as one guy, & nicely done. I have just a few guitar looped recordings. It does give me some ideas on how I could texture up some of my originals, which I'm working on. Good posting, keep up the good work.
you are amazing! You gave me chills! I am definitely impressed. If I could give you thousands of stars I would! How long have you been playing violin if you don't mind me asking?
This is beautiful, i first heard this a few days ago coming from my housemates room and it just moved me, thankyou for posting this, it is an absolute pleasure to watch.
Awesome... this is my favorite Glass violin piece, and you make a wonderful performance. Thanks, you make my day!

This is minimalist electronic music. The technique of looping is an integral part of the style. Look up other compositions by Glass and Reich.
