What about some real solutions? Energy crisis? International relations? Domestic economy? Jocular remarks about the French don't constitute foreign diplomacy.
There is no comparison between McCain and Obama unless you are uneducated, ignorant, or old. McCain represents everything that is wrong with America. The old way of doing things. Obama represents the people. If republicans cant handle a country that cares more about the brotherhood of man then money move! Your generation is dieing. Thank god.
"McCain represents everything that is wrong with America. The old way of doing things."
I don't mind change if it is not a solcialist Ideology. Obama has too many socailist ideas. I will not vote for him for this reason. What we really need is a 3rd party but since that will not happen. I will vote for Mcaain. Although I feel as if I have no real choice. I think Obamas change is a change in the worng direction. Having the government take over is a bad idea in my opinion.
When a society start to run away from its responsibilities, it start calling everything socialist. I rather take a chance on Obama than four more years of the same old techniques and somehow expect a different result. You guys need to back to sleep like you did in 92 until we're finish fixing this country and wake your ass up to come mess up again in 2016.
One thing I am not a republican. I am a libertarian. I am not basing Obama as a socialist because I heard he was. I base it on the ideas he proposes, taking money from a higher class and giving it to lower class is Wealth redistribution. It is a socialist tenant. I know that if a company is taxed they are simply going to raise the prices and lay off. When they country goes bankrupt in 20 years due to the entitlements from Obama Don't say I didn't warn you. People don't look ahead.
By the way If you remember the reps did not go to sleep. They elected the republicans in the house and senate. At that time it was balance and things got done. Remember "separate but equal" guess not. The president is not a king. The executive and legislative are to blame. But most people don't. They rather take sides than to realize that both sides made some huge mistakes. So while both sides play the blame game our freedoms are slowly being taken away.
mamyhadja1 So true. Republicans are so good at the names, and am quite tired of the socialist tag they put on liberals. It shows me that they do not even know what true socialism is. It is the typical loud mouths on the right, talk big, but usually are the ones that mess up this country. The democrats are the cleaners. But watch Pubs kick and scream if there is a hint of tax a increase. How do they think the outrageous bills they've run up will ever get paid? Suddenly it's the Dems fault.
teuvo9--yes,McCain represents "THE OLD WAY" of doing things! That OLD WAY is what got you your unappreciated freedom so you can sit like a coward behind your screen and pretend that the rest of America can't see through Obama's pitiful attempt to be everything to everyone. How can he be president when he doesn't know what he believes from week to week. That's exactly what Kerry did wrong when he ran in 04. Seriously, Obama needs to grow a pair and just be himself. It's getting quite funny.
Yep it's always the media's fault when a republican sucks it up. How about some objectivity regardless of whether you support McCain. The guy goes on to say that he thought Sarah Palin's speech was great so is it only a liberal bias when they don't think McCain's great and not when they say his VP choice is great? Nice call dip shit!
wooderson-That's your opinion that McCain "sucked it up". I think what he said was powerful. I couldn't care LESS whether or not he can or can't read a teleprompter like Obama. What we will ALL see in the next 2 weeks is how pitiful Obama really is when the debates start! Ha! He doesn't stand a chance. He doesn't even know whether he's going to increase taxes and he doesn't think Iran is a threat. Even libbies know Iran is a threat. I am gettin' the popcorn ready!
My opinion is not that McCain sucked it up. My opinion is that you can't call out the media as being pro left wing because they criticize your candidate's speech when they praise Sarah's speech by comparison in the same breath. I look forward to the debates also. Not to look for a winner in the head to head comp, but to have each of them better define the specifics of their various positions. Should be educational for me.
It goes to show how divided this country is. Everybody knows that the worst speech anybody has ever heard Democrat or Republican. It even makes Biden's speech get a D+, but because we are so divided, the rupublican are ready to defend the worst speech anybody has ever heard.
Well good for you mamyhadja1 For being so young you speak more sensibly than some others here. I urge you to continue not taking everything you hear as fact from candidates, but do your own research and then form your opinions. Pretty speechs do not make good presidents as you know well with Bush. That is what needs to change with voters. Unbiased information is plentiful here on the internet. Do that and you will continue to make sound choices.
Its looking even better USA today post RNC covention poll shows Mccain up 50% to 46 first time Mccain hits 50 and among likely voters its 52% to 44% this is an amazing turn around.
Keep dreaming about these polls. Young people are motivated and ready to vote for the first time in my life. Almost everybody i know at Purdue University is getting ready to vote for the first time and they all going for obama. The only polling that will count is when millions of young people like me will storm the polling stations to vote for the future and against the pass.
Fellow americans, it is unbeleivable that anyone would want to vote for mccain. Do you really think that this man is sincere and will take a duferent path from Bush?? Do you want more war? Do u want more of your children to die for these neocons?? Americans, please, we are btter than this. Lets do the right thing and put obama in office for the good of our country.
GOP, "not about issues" Wonder why: WRONG on economy WRONG on healthcare WRONG on foreign policy WRONG on education WRONG on women's rights WRONG on oil dependence crisis WRONG on Iraq occupation WRONG on proper VP vetting You can't cover this up with lipstick. Enough. ♥ Obama/Biden 08 ♥
another fact libs. we are not in a recession. we're close, but two consecutive quarters of negative growth have yet to be posted. when obama gets in and raises the corporate tax jobs will flee like mad. bye bye gm, cat, de, fdx, ge, etc. bye bye foreign investments. bye bye honda and toyota plants. bye bye debt markets. without the possiblity for growth china will stop investing and start liquidating.
Were not in a recession? See this is exactly why Barack Obama and Joe Biden say you republicans JUST DON'T GET IT! Has your poor fucking portfolio not gone down for two consectutive quarters slyfoxx? Hurrray for you! Tell that to the MANY Americans part of the growing unemployed, the increasing poverty rates under Bush, the decline in real incomes, the sky rocketing bankruptcies and foreclosures, the rapidly growing cost of everything average people need over the last 8 years!! You're done.
Who cares if we're in a recession, people are hurting that's all you need to know. Now stop it, tell that to the person who has just lost his house if we're in a recession or not.
obama's main message from his speech was, "i'm here to save you." i'll tax only big business more. thank god, because i don't know about you, but i purchase nothing from businesses and don't recieve a paycheck from one either... wink wink. he won't take water out of your bucket, he'll just drain the places you get the water from. simply put, he'll raise taxes. he wants the government to be in control and not individuals. this country endured one carter administration we don't need another.
Obama didn't say anything about blanket taxing big businesses more you moron or liar Slyfox! Big businesses will pay more for sending jobs overseas and not investing right here in America. Obama has promised to LOWER the corporate tax rate for those companies that KEEP jobs here in America! Individuals (not corporations) with VERY high incomes will pay more in taxes. Oil companies already making HUGE record breaking profits will no longer be given tax breaks & subsidies by the American people.
slyfoxx7 big corporate has never paid it's fair share of taxes! They use most of our infrastructure, and should pay more! Do you even know what socialism is before you spout off about Obama wanting gov to control individuals? Gov. is us, we the people, our money via taxes! You talk socialism, look at what Bush did, he nationalized Fannie and Freddie. Government owning businesses, now that is socialism!
JakiiRSM this is why our schools need funding. If we don't get funding for our schools, we end it up with ignorant people like these left over Republicans. Got any suggestion on how to get read of them? MARS maybe?
mamyhadj I hate to say this but as the head of the CFR said, 'Americans are replaceable'. What is happening was planned. CFR and Trilateral want lots of cheap labor to come into this country and said so. It is no doubt they are creating a two class country of rich and poor. Next its the NAU and NAFTA. It's all a master plan. We will have to completely re-write our constitution. I'm afraid they do not want us educated. They can get that for slave wages from China and India. Revolution anyone?
Please, the Republicans (including the speech written entirely FOR Palin who reportedly had little input into it), said absolutely nothing of importance to the American people. Ignorant, petty, dismissive smears of Barack Obama aren't what people (except for Slyfoxx ilk) are looking for. As Biden said about republican speeches "What do you talk about about when you have nothing to say? What do you talk about when you can't explain the last eight years of failure?
the speech was amazing. he had his john f kennedy moment. "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." simply put, "fight for it!" and john has!!! mccain believes in freedom, and america IS freedom. obama is ashamed of this country and thinks he is here to save us from our freedom. mccain fought for it, and likewise it saved him.
Save us from our freedom? You mean like George Bush with the help of John McCain have been trying to do over the last 8 years? Republicans know NOTHING of serving one's community, and serving the best interests of the nation as a whole. ONLY of themselves. They know nothing of personal AND social responsibility. What a JOKE John McCain making such a speech in front of a crowd of selfish, greedy, self focused, self interested, bigoted, discriminatory, fairness-and-equality-hating delegates.
THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS QUESTION: IS ANDERSON COOPER GAY? I read his bio and I've watched him for a long time. Excellent reporter (whe he's not siding with Obama) but what is his sexual orientaion? Reason: Goes to his pre-disposed bias as a reporter covering this election.
You WISH Anderson was gay ATRUEAMERICAN1000. You know (and WE know) you want him.
Well maybe he is gay, be we know (and YOU know) that he would never be interested in nasty pustule such as you. And hence, you've resigned yourself to the party of self-loathing-homosexuals, the Republican party.
JakiiRSM - You give away that you've never had the balls to put on a uniform and fight for the very rights which allow you and other FAGS like you to post crap here.
atrueamerican10000 You're absolutely right big mouth, I don't have balls. I am female, and surely not a "fag." LOL LOL And gain, I'm sick of hearing about his military POW experience. If McPhony was so concerned with POW's then why Members of the two major POW/MIA family organizations know the "real" John McCain and they despise him. They have experienced firsthand his cruel, angry temperament. (continued)
atrueamerican100000 (continued) In 1996, McCain encountered a group of POW/MIA family members outside a Senate hearing room. The family members were some of the same who worked tirelessly during the Vietnam War to make sure Hanoi released all U.S. POWs - including POW McCain. You must be so proud of this guy... uh huh!
atrueamerican100000 Instead showing courtesy and appropriate compassion by answering their questions, the Arizona senator pushed through the group, shoving them out of his way, nearly toppling the wheelchair of POW/MIA mother Jane Duke Gaylor. Your guy pure and simple is not who he trys to sell himself as! Check is voting record for veterans...I challenge you. And do not bother me again with you half baked name calling!
I imagine, after the Kool-Aid wears off, many Republicans will wake up with an empty feeling - the empty feeling that they're trying to rally around a ghost.
The same people backing McCain are the ones who backed Bush..and they slandered the shit out of McCain..for Bush who was never a hero!
So you can believe what you want..but these people don't give shit about McCain's POW history..they just want your vote! And any hockey-mom bitch they can find who will draw blood from the enemy..is qualified to be president!eat the shit..it's nice and hot!!
His attacks and speech sounded like the democrates were governing the last 8 years and running this country to the ground! Hilarious. Mr McCain, you cannot convince me that you get ridd off all your corrupt friends in DC in your own party to bring a REAL change for this country and not just for your rich buddies! What a joke the repuks are. Reminds my of Putin's power change in Russia. I vote for Obama
The most telling part of the speech was the last part in which McLame shouted, "Fight for this! Fight for that! Fight for the other thing! Fight, fight, fight!" We are going to be in for a real treat. It's as if you cranky 72-year-old neighbor, you know the one who always yells at the kids who walk on his lawn and threatens to shoot them, were put suddenly made president. And his AK-47 toting VP doesn't promise better. We're talking 4 years of Bolten diplomacy and wars on every front!
I agree, McCain's speech was atrocious! It was more of a pep rally than anything. It was so boring I had to take no doze pills to stay awake. "BUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOW BETTER THAN THAT." ... Ugh! Just plain AWFUL!
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 47% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it's Obama 50%, McCain 45%.
I couldn't watch the entire speech because it put me to sleep. But so many people at the convention were yawning, and yawning is contagious, isn't it?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
McCain is never going to be considered a great orator. He will still be the next president, though. America is waking up, and getting to really know Barry Hussein Obama.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 47% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it's Obama 50%, McCain 45%.
I'm curious, what gives you an indication that America is "waking up" to who Obama is? Is it because you think Americans are dumb enough to be fearful of a person that has "Hussein" as part of their name? I know that's what Republicans are hoping for, they thrive on trying to push fear onto people. But it's really not working this time. People are seeing that the only thing they really have to fear is another 4 years of Bush style politics.
I am no Republican....I will be voting for the Constitution Party candidate as a protest this year. I just can't pull the lever for McCain (he has backstabbed conservatives too much for my liking). I do like the addition of Palin though. And the two libs on the Democrat ticket will never receive any support from me, pre or post election!! We will have to agree to disagree, and thanks for not attacking me personally. Most of these folks just throw insults at each other!!
After Bush, I don't think we will ever see another republican in the whitehouse for a long time.

atrueamerican100000 Instead showing courtesy and appropriate compassion by answering their questions, the Arizona senator pushed through the group, shoving them out of his way, nearly toppling the wheelchair of POW/MIA mother Jane Duke Gaylor. Your guy pure and simple is not who he trys to sell himself as! Check is voting record for veterans...I challenge you. And do not bother me again with you half baked name calling!

It's nice to see someone in the media be honest about Grandpa McCain. The Dementia-ridden monster belongs in a home, not the White House.

I imagine, after the Kool-Aid wears off, many Republicans will wake up with an empty feeling - the empty feeling that they're trying to rally around a ghost.

Republicans in general are shockingly bad. Therefore, McBush will probably win the election, because American voters are shockingly stupid.
yt5454 3 years ago 4

McCain is never going to be considered a great orator. He will still be the next president, though. America is waking up, and getting to really know Barry Hussein Obama.

Indeed, americans are that dumb, they have proved it twice over the last 8 years.
