  • Saw this when I was there in the beginning of April 2007. Didn't really have time to try it out as we were only there for 36 hours but got to see the kitesurfing in action. I'd like to give it a try though if I go back for a longer time.

  • You probably saw me out there kiting then. Every free minute I have, I try to make it down to the beach. You should check it out. Kitesurfing Aruba has some of the best deals in the word for kitesurfing lessons.

  • how many lessons or how long until I am able to kite surf? I am familiar with control line kites and am able to surf, would I be able to do this first day? Will be in Aruba Soon, we just booked our tickets!

  • This day I post concludes my 3 week stay in Aruba doing both Windsurfing and Kitesurfing. If you have any experience wakeboarding or snowboarding, they will without a doubt, help you into transitioning into a similar sport except with the addition of a powerful kite.

  • Lessons are split up into 3:

    1. Flying the training kite for basic understanding of how user inputs are translated to kite response

    2. Body dragging, where you are given a full-sized kite then practice using its power to pull you through the water

    3. Board lessons where you are given both the full sized kite and the board to hone all the knowledge gained.

  • If you've no experience snow/wakeboarding, it might take several weeks to become comfortable on the water; a few days if you have already tried aforementioned sports and can balance well.

Just remember: kite control is paramount especially when being hit by a gust otherwise you can be dragged on, under water/land or accelerate uncontrollably from 15 to 35+ mph in 3 seconds.

  • im going to aruba to but to go windsurfing water is beutifull

  • yeah I love it in Aruba. I am currently off the island for the rest of the summer and I missssss it man! You should check out kitesurfing. Armando has a great school and its so much fun, I got hooked on the first day! Have a great vacation in Aruba, take care.
