The best car I ever owned was a 1984 Mercury Lynx LX four door Hatchback. I bought it from my mom in roughly 2005, and drove it for around two years. I went to work, shopping, camping, swimming, got pulled over a few times, and some off-roading with that car, and it still wanted some more. The sad thing is, I lost it in a traffic accident just after my birthday a few years ago. RIP Ol' Red!
@jakesaintsrow123 I seen one of those also. It was blue, and it hung around Toledo Washington. I thought it was cool, because I had a car that was fairly rare, and the lady had one that was even rarer then mine was. God, I wish they would bring the Lynx back....
@joshuabrooks21 Try and find another Escort/ Lynx Around for sale. You Probably Will Find an escort before lynx but there both the same cars. good Little cars Actually yes! I Just got my first car. 1987 chevy nova
Wow,,, my parents bought a 1985 LYNX wagon new when i was 4 years old,, lol we had a trailer hitch on ours, lol pulling a 12 foot aluminum boat no problem.. wouldnt wannna put much more than that on it
Yeah, it was a dark and abstract commercial ad, with custom synthesizer music, like a moody and slow Miami Vice Theme (Ian Hammer) synth-rich type of thinking music.
Just the Lynx or Black Panther animal handler required for the LA commercail, alone, made it high end, as the animal was shot in slow motion jumping onto the globe/sphere, in one abstract scene.
This is almost like a Cal Worthington Ford commercial quality. LOL.
WOW, a cheaply made Mercury Lynx local network commercial. About 1985 the local Los Angeles networks had a high quality ad with a lynx jumping onto a globe and high end film shooting of a black lynx, and some high quality music, specially made for the car.
Where was this local Lynx ad aired, as it is not the LA (CBS NBC ABC) network quality ad that was running in america?
@ke228 Ohhhh I see...so they were built on the same body frames but just different body and interior stylings. I used to ride to Pittsburgh in a Mercury Lynx all the time to childrens hospital when I was 3...funny thing..to this very day..I still remember the yellow light on the radio
@ConwingL162007 Yeah, they were pretty much the same car w/ just minor trim differences. That's cool you still remember that. I've got a few similar memories myself!
@ke228 My aunts Lynx was a 5 speed stick shift with red interior. I do remember the front grille having the Cougar emblem on the front of it and the Tail lights were full with only the backup lights showing

You do realize that if you had a Mercury Lynx, as opposed to a Ford Escort, it was just a tad classier :-0.

Even the Lee Iacocca K-Car Network Commercial in 1980 (watch?v=pws4c9FAY80) spent more money than this local network version commercial.
I hate remakes! Where's the Original. This is awful! LOL

I love the Lynx. Far more unusual than the Escort!
ke228 2 years ago
@ke228 Why was it far more unusual? My aunt had one and I thought they were th same as the Escort..just different bodystylings
ConwingL162007 1 year ago
@ConwingL162007 Because they produced less of them, therefore making them harder to find, thus less usual than Escorts.
