  • @Torcika thats not the point of the drills, and this is not the only defense---its an example. that's why there's sensitivity drills so that you can learn how to react to attacks coming from different angles. its a system that teaches you that attacks can come from anywhere at any time, so the drills sharpen your coordination. this system is combat proven and techniques in this system are taught to the US Army, US Marines, FBI, CIA, and countless other groups all over the world.

Remember the old sayings of the old man who invented the handblade. respect the blade, and you won't miss it. the point of impact....  the origin of the handblade. the attacker's shifting of the attack won't be a problem because at the point of impact, any movement is anticipated. the basic standing block and shifting to the left side is the origin. its the deflection of the blade. just like when doing the handblade from down left and deflecting it up and to the other side.
