What a circuit, I cant think why they are using Valencia instead of this brilliant track. Patrick Tambay was really great, one of the best drivers back then. Also this Renault was a monster to drive. And all these brought exciting racing to the fans and the drivers.
God this is the best. I watched this F1 cars at Estoril many times, when they come here (Portugal) I love them. This are really F1 drivers with no "driver assists" just their passion and talent.
Well, they were after all up again Prost and Lauda in the McLaren-TAG Porsche, Rosberg and Mansell in the Williams-Honda, Senna and De Angelis in the Lotus-Renault and Alboreto in the Ferrari.
We didn't get f/1 tv coverage till 1989. Missed the turbos. HAd to get tapes of ''LAP OF THE GODS'' before youtube. Love the one with Senna at Monoco with 1200 to 1400 hp qualifying.
this was when Formula One was racing. but not anymore, Tambay would've been fined thousands of euros for going over that white line by the pit exit nowadays. F1 has lost its meaning in this era.

Back when F1 cars were actual cars, not toys, like nowadays...

The track really doesn't seem big enough for that monster. 1 sec accelerating, than 3 sec braking

look at his legs, moving in all corners with the G force.

I hear all sort of comments about turbos return to F1, concerns about how they will sound.
Just listen to these! Roll on 2013!
P.S. How I miss the old Estoril before Mr. Tilke ruined it...

Kinda makes f1 drivers of today look like pussies. these guys had to deal with shifting heal/toe braking and all that power

Check out the height of the rumble strips, mounting one would probably lead to an off track excursion.
