So incredible and so young! Erika Fatale just did an amazing tribute to her acapella. If you haven't seen it, look up her I Will Always Love You acapella tribute. Blew me away..
How can you be a new artist and have this much control over your voice? listen to them notes wow! I would of passed out if I were in the house that night for sure!
Whitney my Lady RIP, nobody will ever replace your raw true soulful talent. Truly one of a kind. We will always love you Diva. "All of my life, ive been a fool", Chills. She takes us to church on a soulful journey through riffs of pure effortless vocal genius. Gone too soon. An angel sent to down to earth, returns home.
Am I the only one who thought this was really bad? It was too high for her. She was straining the entire time. Whitney may be the best voice we’ve ever had...but this just wan’t good.
@x20brandon06x It wasn't too high for her, but, this song simply was not a good song for her. Also, the arrangement should've been much better. Her voice was great, and she could go higher than this, BUT, the singing didn't flow. I didn't care too much for this arrangement, and it didn't "wow" me as Whitney always did. Just a bad arrangement, and boring to me, though.
i can also see the reason wqhy clive davios wanted to change her style so much as it was far too much church and gospel inher early performances, they managed to get her to loose some of the too many riffs and occasionaly let her explode, that became her signature syle and power
@etrax2000 The church in her voice is what made her so amazing and what folks loved so much. This song is simply not the appropriate song for her voice. But, if you listen, she always "ran" the same in the early songs. She used the runs to fill in the empty spaces in this song...
Coming from a different place.....few singers experience. This girl had music in her....wow. Simply amazing. Wonder if she can recapture 1/2 of this....it takes some soul searching.
The "Voice" in the making. The best was yet to come.....and when it arrived, it left us all mesmerized. Thank you Whit for sharing your god-given talent with us all.
@Doubtize AMEn>>>AMEN...couldnve had said it better myself...if everyone looked at her heart...that would surely outweigh all the material success she has achieved.
5-10 years later her voice was way more powerful and vocally she became more prominent, which shows she did work her voice not just had a "a gift from God" as some people think
@wupek Power is not everything cause she lost her coloratura lyric tone for more power. I like her better in her lyric coloratura days 80's Whitney was no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@wupek AMEN! I actually thought this was kinda shaky for Whitney, especially if one is familiar with Jennifer Holliday's version. The voice shows a lot of promise here, but it was still in the developing stages. It's certainly not the Whitney we hear in ONE MOMENT IN TIME or I HAVE NOTHING.
