My favourite fighter of all time, he had the most determination of any fighter in history. One of the few fighters in over 100 years of boxing that could not be knocked out by anybody. I LOVE YOU MARvIN!
halger would have killed ray if ray fought him in his prime but sugar ray waited 5 years untill marvin slowed down. pluss hagler got robbed. it was kind of a pussy move but it was also smart i guess.
@todafacetodaface he was "retired" but he was still training for a fight with hagler the whole time. he had simulted fights in th gym. he was only 30 and hagler had been fighting for 15 years. the showboating made it seem like leonard was doing maroe than he actually was like raisng his hands after a close round that he should have lot and droping his hands and bolo loblowing. i watched the fight again without sound so and i thought it was 115-113 hagler
@ghns1133 get over it lol leonard was rusty and if you box you know no amount of sparring can prepare you for the real thing, leonard was a welterweight and naturally 2 weights below him 1 fight in 5 years and hagler was so confident he would beat leonard he disrespected him to the point he tried to outbox him. boxing is the the mane of the game and leonard out boxed him period !!!!
@sweetassugar69 Well...lol, at least Hagler didn't get knocked silly by Hector Camacho and Terry Norris. I guarantee if there would have been a rematch, Leonard wouldn't have starred in "The Fighter". Why? Because Leonard wouldn't have been able to speak coherently.
Somebody commented that hopkins was the most dominant MW champion, he was the longest reigning champ in the weakest era in MW history, but far from the most dominant. If hagler had fought in hopkins era and got his title shot sooner I have no doubt that he could have had 30-35 title defenses easy hagler would have chewed up and spit out everyone hopkins beat and even struggled with, robinson lost to lamotta, basillio, fullmer and hagler was a totally different beast than those guys, nuf said.
@donray4 well, robinson did fight a lot at middleweight, and henry armstrong, and carlos monzon, but he's top five for sure. and i'm a huge hagler fan, but lets be realistic
You got the muscles, the veins, the power.Thats what he looked like-power.
