@patsosas This guys are smart, very smart. They realise not only top end gear delivers the sound in many concerns. Bugera amps and the 6262 pictured ara great for metal, as also is the Behringer V Amp Pro that many ditch as bad. This guys achieve an awesome sound with pretty much relative inexpensive stuff. Even at the guitar level, Martin is seen on the vid playin a gibson custom, but he also plays some studio one´s and sounds just as good:)

Like, the song in the beginning is Surface The Infinite (demo). The song's chorus on the final album now sounds just too tame for my tastes, it's just not as fun, emotional, or chaotic =[. I feel like many of the choruses on the album have gone under this 'taming' as well, like on Ignition or In My Absence.

The one cool thing to look foward to, is there's an amazing Haven-esque bonus track called "The Bow And The Arrow" on German Amazon that you can now listen to and it sounds really great!

The new album has a couple great songs, but the few that are great just sound like leftover Fiction ideas, over half of the songs sound very lame, take Shadow In Our Blood or We Are The Void for instance, where in the world did Mike's genius vocals-lyrics go?? Most of the chorus's sound like a very bad cover band. But beyond that, the music also sounds sloppy and not well put together. I feel like this whole album is very watered down, In Flames is actually much stronger than this with ASOP.

Well, I think In Flames tends to make bigger leaps whenever they come out with a new album - as in, each step forward (or backward, if you're not a fan of their progress) is large and often sounds very different from the last album. They're more dynamic in that regard, but it's harder to pinpoint their sound.

DT, in contrast, seems to take smaller steps, but is able to keep a core sound throughout all of their albums. Whether or not you like that core sound...well, that's the thing.

Stanne actually seems better than ever, higher pitch voice than when recording the great albums Haven and Damage Done but still good. Same kind of development as Chuck Schuldiners voice had but Chuck actually lost power with higher pitch while Stanne preserves it.

I get to hear how they've evolved with every recod. Personally my least favorite album is The Mind's I, bu yet i still love it. This is definately a band not to be taken lightly.
