No need for apologies: this was a lovely video. I enjoyed all its richness: the varied and beautiful scenery, lots of great chuffing and wonderful billowing exhaust! I thought it was great and I'm going to watch it again. Thanks.
Thanks Elaine. I'd hoped you'd enjoy the scenery. It really was a beautiful (if cold) day to be out in the English countryside. Well worth going out for. Chris
Another masterpiece made here Chris. In terms of weather, sun, snow, scenery and authentic shots of steam, What could go wrong? Thats a perfect combination you got there.
Thanks Steve, It's safer to use trusted sites but would get a bit boring with these repeat itineries so you have to keep trying. Don't always get it right though. Chris
You did very well considering, we all have a bad day and i should know i seem to have plenty. great scenery love the wind mills and the sound was captured brilliantly.
Hi Steve. Just south of the junction of the A670 (Stockport Road) with the A6050 (Quick Road) you should come to Strawberry Lane then a pub on the west side of the A670. Midway between the Lane and the pub there's a public footpath leading down to the railway. I stood around forty or so yards down this path at the first clear view through the trees.
Thanks Mike - I keep looking for new sites. I don't think I made best use of the conditions and locations this time - but at least I'll know what to expect on another visit. Chris
That's being very harsh on yourself Chris, we don't always get it 100% as we would like but we are not pros. You told me once that a shot is always worth seeing as some people can't get out and like to see the results of others.
Thanks Chris for the info. Local as in Bramhall and about 20 mins from there I guess but currently in the States so YouTube steam is a blessing.

Maybe not your finest hour Chris but she had one hell of a bark coming up that incline. Thanks for that!

Agreed Niall. Can't complain about the loco's performance at all. 'Tis the sound and scenery that save it thank goodness. Chris

Excellent conditions - clear, still, cold and sunshine. Shame I couldn't make better use of them as this turned out a bit of a mess in the end. Chris
