I work for Caterpillar and our corporate office just released a memo to employees about the senate healthcare bill. After reading the bill it was determined that our healthcare costs will go up 20% the first year alone, due to this proposed reform bill. My senator, Claire McCaskill has shut her constituants out. Her office has not been accepting phone calls for a week now. When do we stop this insanity?
The new healthcare legislation is just trying to do what has already been done (and proven effective) for car insurance: require all to participate and prevent companies from denying coverage. I don't see GOPs coming out in droves trying to fight car insurance mandates.
We need free everything for everyone. I need a new car. I need a better house. I need finger augmentation surgery. I need an obama guarantee that my retirement will be as good as

my neighbor lost a job and the insurance in 1997,wound up needing sinus surgery,his wifes insurance said its a pre-existing condition,the ent dr sent him to the state for indigent care,they paid 90%and he only paid a percentage down on his part and the rest over time.theres always a way to be treated in this country,nobody does without health care unless their to lazy to seek it out,in our small town we have had drives for people who need operations they can't afford or pay for

What about self employed individuals (small business owners for example) that have the money to pay for insurance but can't because of pre-existing medical conditions? While people in the military, unions, government jobs, and large corporations get their health care served to them on a silver platter, there are a great many people who contribute immensely to society that aren't included in the system for BS reasons that you foolishly choose to ignore.

@dizzypilots1, I actually work in an ER. We are not required to give people full healthcare, just to stabilize them until they are either fit for transfer or have given birth (females). It's called EMTALA. And this is one reason why ER care is so expensive, because folks can't afford primary care so they use high-tech ERs like mine in lieu of family docs.

How about the FDIC? They've successfully prevented many American's life savings from going poof after so many banks failed this year.
What about our Armed forces and Homeland Security? They've done a fine job in preventing post 9/11 terrorist attacks.
