I would hardly call that a real attack (two hands grabbing wrist) Infact the only people who do that to me are my kids ! Yet another stupid aikido technique based in myth attacks
its more like introducing the art so ppl know wad aikido is roughly abt, if one is really interested, he can choose to go to a real dojo. and these videos serves as a refresher also, even martial arts may forget some fundamentals, so these videos are pretty useful
perfect technique,I´m 14 jears old and I practice it whith a friend. My brother make this same grip and I throw him to the ground, realy fantastic. (My brother is 26 and is a doorman, he weight 110 kg)
In my hapkido class we call this rolling elbow lock. My regular uke is 6'5" and 360lbs. He's strong as an oxe. If this technique is done with the body, not the arms, it is a piece of cake. Even from an overhead strike. The trick is to keep your hands in front of you and use your body motion to accomplish the work. Once you get the hang of it, it is a very low effort technique. Thanks for another great video.
In the spirit of a real streetfight, can you demonstrate the technique by allowing the opponent to resist the technique. Then we can see it's effectiveness in realtime combat. then i'll be impressed. Aikido looks cool tho.
ouch.. the thought of it.. I know this technique, and.. trust me, it doesn't matter whether u resist or not. follow the instructions and let another person do it to u (who knows how to do it) and u'll see how actually helpless u are. i was once skeptical like u, but then i joined the class :-)
Resistance doesn't matter. If the situation doesn't lend itself to ikkyo, there's always another opening. If you got it there but he's not letting you raise his elbow - channel your body weight into the elbow and do either kaiten nage or irimi nage. Or ikkyo ura (going back and around), which doesn't require the elbow to be up. Etc etc.
In a real streetfight the opponent would'nt know your technique making it hard to resist. In the dojo a stupid uke can try to resist if he knows what technique you're doing but change your technique right away and you'll get him...for example if he tries to resist the Ikkyo (technique in this video) go for Nikyo instead.
many people might be against me for this but i think anyone should be able to do any technique without having to go to another, this is because the techniques do not depend on situation but unfortunetly we do when we arent very good at aikido. Aikido is more principal then it is technique , its not like a dictionary or even in language you see you cant use dictionary to speak you supplement it in aikido we suplement with training but in a real situation one would have to use principal and apply
bruce lee could fight but he was more of a show man but i think if he had not advertised himself so much they would have maybe let him alone.
his ad was good if he was only a gym owner but it ws probably too much because he also was a movie star.. whoever did what they did , did not like him being in the center attention.
its a BIG shame because bruce lee was a real original martial artist becuase he buildt it based on himself not on his masters . there is almost no otehr martial art like jkd.

Korean Hapkido was created in 1951 by Choi Yong Sul who studied under Sokaku Takeda who was the master of Daito-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu in Japan.
He created Hapkido mixed Taekundo and Boxing technique with Aiki. So Japanese Aikido and Korean Hapkido have something in common.
Incidentally, Sokaku Takeda is the master of Morihei Ueshiba.

Who is this teacher? you cannot learn martial arts on the net.

What these dudes do has no effect on my ego or anything else.
I was simply commenting that this is not how budo is taught or learned.
If you or others believe differently, that is fine :)

You think teaching, informing and promoting are the same thing?
Maybe to those who dont learn it.
And it should not be a matter of ego, but I cant see what motivates these guys to do this if it is not ego.
It sure doesnt follow the teachings of aikido as taught by the founder.

He is not teaching.
Teaching martial arts properly is not possible on the internet.
We made a video response explaining why but "expert village" did not allow it.

An aikido teacher who doesn't mention ki or ai and "teaches" indiscriminately on the net??
Ueshiba Sensei would be disgusted.
This must just be for money or ego.

this is all a volenteer they don't get payed for this

which only leaves ego as the motivation

yeah Bruce Lee was a strong advocate of
fluidity in martial arts
gotta be fluid with transitions
very important
you cant be like sitting there thinking while he's striking lol
