This is nothing new. There are many different applications for which chemicals are sprayed in a similar fashion. While it's always possible that this was some sort of nefarious operation it appeared to be a normal maintenance job. If you think that's bad go to Florida in the summer time. They spray every night to keep the mosquito problem under control.

UPDATE: I received an email from the contact I was on the phone with and was told to go back to the website and file a complaint, which I did. But basicaly given the run around, we are going down to the DOT office when we can and filing a complaint in person and going to the state house to do the same.

Dan, find out where this truck originates from and follow them again, stay back and TAKE A SAMPLE of the fluid they are spraying. Get your organisation to stump up for the cost of *independent* lab testing of the sample, and nail their asses to the wall if you find anything toxic to humans or animals in the results, for spraying it and for not disclosing what they are spraying. Great civic work mate, keep it up.

There's a big difference between too many people, and lack of resources and losing a small percentage of profits to supply the required infrastructure and technologies that would comfortably support at least double our worlds current population. Top margin comes before human beings it seems. Look up vertical farming, floating solar islands, and water condensers it's all there now.

I agree that it may not be a big deal what they are spraying but that isn't the point, is it? What is concerning is that the information about the chemical should be physically present in the truck and the police relies on gut feelings about it sounding legit. The lack of critical thinking is the worst part in this story, and the guys doing their work act like they are being asked for the Pepsi-cola chemical formula. If they didn't know what's the big deal about being honest?

@SekretZdzicha You don't find it even a little odd that A) They acted in a very odd manner, and claimed that as public workers, they are "not allowed to discuss what they are spraying" with the public? and B) They were obviously spraying toxic chemicals (which even if it was 'round up', is a very toxic chemical) with NO materials data safety sheet attached to the truck or on display, and the cop didn't cite them for breaking this LAW?

I don't find anything odd in their behavior. They are just plain "grunts", an ordinary workers or policemen. They don't have any sophisticated chemical knowledge to clearly explain the chemical formula of roundup. If this wacko journalist want precise answer, he need to speak with town council or environmental protection agency. And we all know how workers treat OHS and safety laws. They were just too lazy to protect themself or other, or they don't care about it.

They are spraying weedkiller on the sidewalk and highway to kill the weeds. I dont know why its such a secret, but those workers should just tell you thats what they are doing. I fully agree with you though, they should have proper documentation. In Winnipeg, Canada they spray Malathion for mosquitoes and I have footage of it on my channel. They were spraying while the Winnipeg Jazz Festival was going on downtown and people were still out enjoying the evening. They should do it at 3am.

You need to file a complaint against the road crew (DOT truck #) and the Officer. Be specific and emphasis the absence of the Material Data Safety Sheet (reference the code / statute). I would also add that both the crew and the Officer were unwilling to answer your "Public Concern". Other than that good for you for questioning them and seeking to know what they were spraying. I would leave out the "why" and just determine the "what" for now.
