The beginning up through the first cadenza is exactly the same as the opening of "Fantastic Polka," then it becomes something else. I guess that's why Pryor named it "Air Varie."
Too bad. "Fantastic Polka" is my favorite Pryor solo. I wish Joe had played that instead of this more difficult, but less lyical "Air Varie."
