@charliefreed Yes. As the ping command has become illegal in several countries after someone left it running for 72 hours!

Most websites have now implemented a script that backtraces the ping, and notifies the police located closest to your location.

If you are going to do this, i recommend getting a proxy.

When i take down sites, I use Hidemyass, because it's one of the most complex proxys you can find on the internet, and it's perfectly suited to hide your ddos attack.

DDoS (or just DoS in this case) is, in the simplest method, sending so many requests (pings in this case) that the server(s) hosting the website will dedicate ALL its resources to the DoSer or be forced to shut down/restart.

Pinging is a basic request often used to test if your network can reach another and measuring the round-trip time.

This method of DoS is called ping flood. You're obviously incompetent to be calling shots.
