nice vid. I wouldnt want that holster becose the Velcro is to noisy. what if you were to get a mag but the holster gave you away.. just a thot ..good vidio thow
what the hell ... are you retarded? why the hell do you need a holster for home defence? Do you plan on patrolling the hallway with your sidearm holstered? only 3 things are really needed , phone , shotgun and a flash light. Stay in your room and hide behind your bed , call the cops. You're not preparing for a zombie attack.only like 1 out of a million people get broken into... relax. I know guns are cool and stuff but .... some people overkill
1) Unless you do a lot of training and rehearsals, I can't see this working when you're woken up in the middle of the night, out of a dead sleep, and your motor functions are temporarily diminished. You don't need a 25 shell belt for home defence. 6 shot side saddle is more appropriate.
2) You referenced kids a lot. How exactly do you store all this so it is practical in a home defence situation but not readily accessable to children?
@ffryan You should train at least once a month (more would be beater) you need to make it automatic (muscle memory) just as with any other martial art. As for the second point that is something you will have to work out as I don’t know your situation (I don’t have kids and when kids come over the guns are locked up)
@mp5man oh, I'm very familar with the concept of training. I've been fortunate enough to be exposed to training from all over the world. The best techniques are the simplest. The fewer motor functions necessary, the better, just like with martial arts. Fancy generally fails.
For home defence a shoulder holster is overkill, as are most slings. Few home defence situations require reloading. Intruders come at night because they don't want a fight. prepare for burglars, not a zombie invasion.
@ffryan But you should train for the worst case scenario what if a bunch of gang bangers think your house is the house of a rival gang leader’s house? Now you have to face of 20 or so attackers! That is why I say “prepare for the worst pray for the best”
@mp5man As long as you understand that preparing for the worst is going to leave you less prepared for something that is a much greater statistical probability.
@mp5man I've been fortunate enough to have the American taxpayers put quite a lot of money into my training. It has been put to test in the real world. I've figured what does and doesn't work. Keep it as simple as you can, otherwise Mr Murphy is going to show up and kick you in the slats.
You must perform an action 2500 times for it to become "muscle memory". If you're not training to this level, then you're doing theory based training, comes from the idea fairy and she is a bitch.
@ffryan I also have received years of training and have been tested in the real world (and I’m still alive) And I do keep it simple as I can I think you are getting confused with what I do and what I’m talking about I’m giving more then one option for people to think about. As my black hat said “train as you fight” which I practice.
@mp5man Also remember something important, since you mentioned legalities. A firearm is a firearm when it comes to situations where you're shooting to preserve life. You either had grounds to shoot somebody, or you didn't. Pistol, shotgun, rifle... doesn't make a difference. Rifle is a poor choice because of penetration.
What will stand out in court is all the gear you have (holseters, slings, extra ammo, etc). It will look like pre-meditation and paint you as the aggressor.
@ffryan Saying that is the same as saying you are looking to hit a car because you put your seat belt on! And that’s why you get a good lawyer that will state “my client was trained to be prepared just like every Boy Scout”
@mp5man And a good prosecuting attorney is going to make your actions look offensive, not defensive. Appropriate use of force is using the minimum amount of force required to eliminate a threat. If you look like you're preparing for war then defensive is going to be a hard argument to make. As long a you are confident that the lawyer being paid lots of money to keep you out of jail is better than the lawyer who is paid lots of money to put you in jail.
@mp5man Like I said, if you are confident that your lawyer can make a better legal argument then the guy who earns a living by putting you in jail (and considers you a notch on his belt) then by all means do what you're comfortable with.
guy that feels usless + gun = guy that fell very cool because with the gun in his hands he can talk a lot of shit and evewrybody watch this shit . Yeaah guy you getting watch because of your guns without there is a fat guy and noyoune watch thats a american problem the illusion every body needs a gun for home defense how often someone broke in your house ??? never never never
@derhallomannsagthi my house has been broken into 3 times if you must know i dont think that everyone needs a gun at all times but its the same idea as whering your seat belt every time you are in the car
i wouldnt keep both 20 and 12 gauge shells in the same bandolier because you could have your 12 gauge shotgun with you, and in the heat of the moment accidentally grab a 20 gauge shell, put it in the 12 gauge gun, jamming the barrel, making the gun useless. Even worse case is you put the 20 gauge in, and then think you forgot to load it or something, and then grab a 12 gauge, load it, and fire, leading to an explosion in the barrel. either way, not a good idea, get a sling with slots fr shels
the shotgun isnt much a home defender as much as a hunting gun you only need like 5 shells to take care of anyone in the house and that means a shorter barrel for better moving capability and pistol grip or collapsable stock is prefered
the shotgun isnt much a home defender as much as a hunting gun you only need like 5 shells to take care of anyone in the house and that means a shorter barrel for better moving capability and pistol grip or collapsable stock is prefered
Pt 3. chances are he would be less likely to take an offensive stand point. However I am aware that the concept between a mp5 and a AR15 are slightly different, but would both be considered an assault weapon. What do you think?
Pt 2. I strongly believe that the .223 rd is a very effective, and accurate choice, and you wont have to worry all that much about collateral damage, that a shotgun with a large slug (or buck shot at a very close range) would produce, it would also be more effective in say a hostage situation and you have to rely on accuracy. Plus it pays a huge intimidation factor, if the criminal has a handgun and sees what you are bringing to the fight
I see what you are saying with the mp5 and I agree with you to a certain point. However I bought a AR15 for my home defense firearm mainly because I'm trained with its big brother the M4A1 (US Army) My personal opinion is that compact rifle is a good choice for home defense (remember this is only my opinion and I respect yours as well.)
Stick with the shotgun in a home defense situation... less chance of killing loved ones or neighbors because of over penetration. And keep in mind, the best gun is one you never have to shoot at someone. A large dog just might save you the trouble of having to use your gear. While my shotty is ready for action, I rest easy knowing my rotty is always standing guard. (just my opinion and nothing more)
I have a security camera business, and most people wait till they are robbed before they call me.Dont wait till ur house and ur family are violated before u put in security measures. An ounce of cure is worth ten pounds of heart ache! When I am called robbers usually have struck. They mostly take guns, jewelery, small electronics like cameras, and tools. Stuff the can carry and easily hide on their person. The family is usually always pissed, and they dont feel comfortable in thier home anymore
NegativeCreap what u say is not really true at all. Due to the technology of flashlights a weapon mounted light IS ideal bcuz the light source is very bright as to where u dont have to point ur weapon @ the person 2 see the threat..But carrying a 2nd hand held light is advised ncase one breaks or bcome damaged.
everything you said about a Glock vs AR15 (or any other "assault weapon") is spot on. The prosecution is going to use it against you in court, and portray you and the weapon you choose in the worst possible way.
your shotgun tactics are a bad idea i mean it takes too long for u to pull out rounds from that stupid modified belt lol no offence or anything.... watch nutnfancys videos... i think he has better tactics
cheese22092: nutns latest combat shotgun videos focus more on a longer term scenario IE WROL, or defense of a home or store against multiple foes
this is a home invasion its a much shorter event with only a handful of people involved
it is my personal belief that if he cant hit his foe with his initial 6-7 shotgun rounds and however many round his secondary carries he should focus more on training. ;)
granted this is just my opinion and yours is also valid
i donno it looks easier to take your rounds out of a side saddle than a flimsy belt... but no extra rounds are necessary if your shotgun is fully loaded to begin with
oh it would absolutely be easier in most instances to use a side saddle as opposed to a bandoleer but as far as i can tell for the role mp5man is intending to employ his shotgun in a full tube magazine plus a bandoleer slung across his chest can work obviously using a side saddle would be better but the shotgun is being employed in a more defensive role as opposed to the more offensive/combat role that nutnfancy tends to go for.
