  • @player9915hot It's been a few years since I did this..it needs some more work...I will gave to give it another go sometime again, maybe with some transcriptions. This was in June 1999 "Guitar Techniques" magazine. thanks for watching.

    --Van

  • Sounds like you, or someone, found Howard Heitmeyer's solo arrangement of this piece.

  • @HotZTrain Transcription From a guy named Michael Stukkereit.

    --Van

  • where did u find the tab for this i found it but its only in standard postion

  • @jgrubb750 This was in June 1999 "Guitar Techniques" magazine. thanks for watching.

  • sounds like stairway ot heaven in the beginning

  • @chipawonga1 Yeah it was "Stairway" lol I put that in for no reason really. I need to do this one again (without "stairway"--ha ha), I know I can do it better... Thanks.

  • @srivictor

Thanks. I will have to try this one again sometime. It is a beautiful piece of music.

    --Van

  • shocking iv head cats strangled with more dignity!

  • @rollinolan Danke mein freund. And 2 comments too-- thanks.

It is callled an "attempt"--nothing more. When I "re-atttempt" and video it in the future, I can see how and where I improved. See how that works! BTW, it is a rather complex difficult piece--I love it.

    Regards,

    --Van

  • very rough dude poor rodrigos baby is spinning in his wee grave... please dont do this anymore

  • in first 20 seconds, the sound reminds me of The Stairway to Heaven coz the sounds so similar to it. Am I right?

  • @21thuy Yes it's "Stairway" at the beginning.thanks for watching. It's been 2 years since I did that--I may have to give it another "go".

    --Van

  • el principio es el solo de stair way to heaven...

  • Thanks very much. i enjoyed this. We aren't all masters; still a little of the beauty in us all goes into anything we try

  • @kingsindiandefence

Thanks...if I waited until I "master" it, it would never be posted--ha ha. I love the tune.

    --Van

  • good job!

  • @bsd1628 Thanks for the kindness.

    --Van

  • lol u plal starawy to heaven intro xD

  • Do you have the tab for this song?

  • Thanks for watching. Sorry no tabs at this time.

    --Van

  • starway to heaven intro

  • Thanks for watching.

Ha ha.....Yeah someday I'll do "Stairway to Heaven" with a "Concierto de Aranjuez" intro. lol

    --Van

  • lovely version Van...

  • Oh, thank you very much "atheer2002".

    --Van

  • I thought it might be nylon strings

  • You must play the stairway to heaven separate, I like the Concierto de Aranjuez you played..sounded very good.. Ill will try to play too.... you can ask someone to give the backup chords for it or on synth :) .. good luck,

  • Thanks. I was just goofy around with the "Stairway" bit. I need to try this one again someday --a little smoothing out.

    --Van

  • el principio es de escalera al cielo

  • Love the arrangement can you send it me please in note form

  • Yes It is a nice arrangement (by Richard Stokreit).

Thanks for watching ...but sorry, no tabs at this time.

    --Van

  • hey steady !! cool style. but little fast.getting started you're playing a very nice melody.

  • @hyperbolewar

Yeah it needs to be smoothed out...I will have to "attempt" this again sometime.

    --Van

  • beautiful i love the beginning

  • do you have steel strings on that guitar ?

  • I think he does

  • This guitar is a Takamine CD132SC classical cutaway NYLON string. It sounds pretty good on my Seagull steeel string too.

    --Van

  • Hey Mate. Very Nice. Could you please forward the Tabs. Thanks

  • Thanks.

Better late than never--Sorry no tabs at this time. This was taken from a magazine "Lesson" by Richard Stokreit. I think it's was in "Guitar Techniques" magazine from about 10 years ago.

    --Van

  • Well done mate, nice one.

  • Thanks for watching..

Literally-- just got back from a "Green Day" concert--I've seen them before but I think they out did themselves this time. It was great.. And another thanks for commenting too.

    --Van

  • why was stairway to heaven at the beginning?

  • Why not? Ha Ha. I sometimes play parts of other songs and put them within other songs. I do that every once in awhile. I was in a Led Zepplin/Rodrigo mood that day. Check out some of my other more recent videos. Thanks.

    --Van

  • Ammazza che merda!

  • Forse non così buono per voi, ma almeno ho provato. Io non sono un professionista, io gioco per il divertimento. Thanks for watching.

  • jajaja no me gusto ademas tokas feo not play guitar plizz XD

  • how did u learn it!!! i want to learn it :( very good 10 points

  • Thanks. I got the tab out of a 1999 "Guitar Techniques" magazine artice. At some point in time I'll attempt this one again.

    --Van

  • I love this Rodrigo's melody... :'(

Btw... What is the song at 20 first seconds?

  • Thank you. Thank you. The intro is "one of the best songs of all time"--Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven"...

    --Van

  • Thank you! :-)

  • !!muy bien Rodrigo , expectacular !!!!!!

    te felicito

    desde cartagena colombia

    mery

  • Piensas q el se llama Rodrigo, vaya por Dios Rodrigo es el mismisimo maestro que compuso el concierto.

  • Rodrigo amor esta composición. Yo no jugar del todo bien, pero al menos es reconocible. Gracias.

    --Van

  • Wow! I heard it and I saw you playing that guitar and I still can't believe it! congratulations! how did you learn it?

  • Can you show us how to play that? I really want to learn and after I saw this video I want to play this on the guitar which I haven;t played for so long because of my inerest in the piano and pipe organ. You have also inspired me to unzip the dusty case of my guitar. Thank you. Please post another video showing how to play. By the way, you play the guitar nicely.

  • Thanks for watching. No promises, but I may make a "how to play" Aranjuez--at least the beginning part anyway.

    --Van

  • you've inspired me to take up the guitar again. what kind of guitar is that cutaway?

  • Thanks "rollo", Hope you picked up that guitar and been strummin' a little bit.

This guitar is a Takamine CD132SC--a nylon acoustic cutaway with a great built-in electric preamp (not used in the video).

    Regards,

    --Van

  • do you happen to have this piece of music or tab?

  • Thanks for watching. Richard Stokkereit, a UK player, transcribed this piece. "Guitar Techniques" magazine (UK pub.) June 1999- Doesn't have all the intricate details of the original, but is pretty close. One of my favorite songs.

    --Van

  • WTG Van. Nice one!.

Guitar Techniques has some great stuff in it, doesn't it? I got Bob's Your Uncle by Laurence Juber from it, arranged by Eric Roche, RIP.

    Keep em coming sir.

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  • Thanks. It need somes "ironing" out (didn't want to wait a couple months until I got it "just right"--as I've said this is a "rough draft"). Eric Roche was one of my favorites too. Another great player is Andie Cayne (classical), she used to be with "Guitarist". "Total Guitar" is another good mag, I've subscribed to all 3 over the past 10 years, but I feel they went from being "GREAT" mags to "just okay" the last few years. Thanks for watching.

    --Van

  • Also, "My Heart Will Go On" (Titanic theme) by Eric Roche (transcription) is in the same GT June 1999 issue-- may have to brush up on that one too. It's a great arraingment. SO MUCH MUSIC..SO LITTLE TIME...

  • Hello Van!

That intro. really confused me! I had to look again at the title!

Well... I like the way you play this piece. Who arranged it? Is it somewhere in Noad's books? Well done, my friend!

    Take care,

    Julie

    P.S.

    Thanks for your re-visits. :)

  • Intro was "Stairway to Heaven", just a "throw in". I added my own "flavor" of sorts. Richard Stokkereit, a UK player, transcribed this piece. Guitar Techniques mag (UK pub.) June 1999- Doesn't have all the intricate details of the original, (I've played along with the John Williams version-it's pretty close). Plus there is at least a half dozen mistakes on my part. Needs some work-call this a "rough draft". Not the easiest, but I think it gets the "message" across. Thanks Julie.

  • nice job !

  • Thank you my little friend. You'll be playing this piece in no time.

    --Van

  • Pardon the "Stairway" intro..
