  • I remember being really freaked out by this as a kid. It became the subject of many a ghost story in my family when we'd go camping...'The Dead Hand'...ooooooo.

  • i remember shitting my pants to this

  • God bless you Elizabeth... RIP x

  • Elisabeth Sladen RIP.

  • that mechanical way she sits and draws her arms to her knees...just another Sarah characteristic that made her so memorable.

  • Hand gets darker because it had turned to stone. The radiation from the room rejuvenates the hand and brings it to life. It becomes Eldrad when the missiles shot from fighter planes are absorbed into the creature.

  • She was bloody tasty then, and more than 30 years on, I still would.

  • o_O now i wanna watch it to see what happens

  • how pretty Sarah is and actually how frightening the hand is. And how tupperware-ish the ...er ....tuperrware is.

  • I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid. I would hear the music and come running even if I was in bed I would get up and beg mom to let me watch.

  • ahh those were the days when the cliff hanger made kids piss the bed - excellent.

  • you can tell when the fake hand is removed and a real actors hand is used (Imagine by green-screen) because the Hand gets Darker and Darker :)

  • @APEMADNESS it was transforming

  • @APEMADNESS I think it's getting darker because it's defrosting, maybe?

  • @rjconnolly64 sorry pressed the dislike on accident. :/

  • Jesus, what's Sarah wearing? 8-0

  • @Miguelohara563 A crime against nature

  • I remember watching this as a 6 year old youngster back in '76. I shat my pants and hid behind the settee!

  • ripped off 'monkeys paw'

  • i had nightmares for years about the HAND!!-still do and im 37.

  • Eldrad must live!!!!

  • awesome episode

  • how i would love to see that outfit hanging i the attic in the new sarah jane adventures, she looks sexy cute in that costume.

  • probably sold it to get back to croydon, lol!

  • well that would have made the train trip more interesting!

i think she would just have called the brigadear and got a free ride home.

  • Sarah Jane and Jo Grant were the sexiest companions

  • And I'm the Loch Ness Monster.

  • my goodness sarah was very pretty!!

    still is :D

  • absolutly amazing

  • That looks so real.

Computer animation - eat your heart out!

  • Yeah if you mean the hand, animatronics is so the way to go when you want to do something like that, Hollywood kept it going for years untill like 5 years ago when all miniatures and animatronics were fazed out by CG and it all just looks so shit now.

  • Yes, I meant the hand. I just does not look animated.

  • I think that outfit makes Sarah Jane look like a little girl.

  • The funny thing is she was about 28 with that was filmed.

  • Professor Carter: "YES...., Just like Andy Pandy!"

  • I love how Sarah-Jane climb's down that ladder and through the door without even glancing at the "Warning; Extreme Radiation" signs :P

  • Sarah Jane was so hot in that jumper...

  • Good cliffhanger

  • Blimey, that still gets the heart racing...

  • good old oldbury power station!

  • Old.

  • This is where I got my fear of spiders.

  • What is that outfit SJ is wearing....

  • i kinda like it lol

  • Sarah Jane

  • 100% C U T E! :P I think this is one of the first episodes I ever saw, back in good ol' 1982.

  • This is from 1976 just at the beginning's of when the BBC where wanting to make Doctor Who more like Star Trek in certain way's and introducing the infant computer technology of that era after the poorer showing of the technology in stories such as Revenge Of The Cybermen which was partly due to time and budget constraint and led to an improvement drive by the production crew then Mary Whitehouse and her television clean up campaign put the boot into the programme. i stopped watching until 1980.

  • An outfit by Andy Pandy I THINK, Not sure.

  • noooooooooooo!...not the tupperware !!!!

  • You can store anything in Tupperware, even disembodied hands. :P

  • Tupperware: keeps the evil fresh!

  • i saw this when i was a relli young, scared the shit outta me!
