I respect religious people and their "Beliefs," but I really dislike how people can be so ignorant about how their belief is 100% certain to be true. No person on earth has ever known exactly what happens when you die, or how the Earth/Life was created and no one ever will. People really need to stop wasting their time and start living their lives. Saying that God exists is like saying unicorns exist. NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW. Well until they die that is.
@FourForGlenCoco Agreed. I could care less what religion/philosophy you belong to, as long as you are a decent, kind person is all that should matter. Actions are what make you a good/bad person, not what you believe in. "Live for the moment, for who knows what lies next." and "Death is but the next great adventure."
Alright here's the deal. I haven't gone to church all my life. Does that make me a bad person? No it doens't. And did it influence my beliefs or my choice not to believe in god? Hell yeah it did. But just because Dallas sings about "God" and that we should question him. I completely agree. If you have a problem with what Dallas sings about gtfo.. and btw to all of you who say that you will pray for him to believe..I'm sure he couldn't care less because it wont help him
oh my, thought this was just some annoyingly preachy song for the longest time so I never listened to the whole thing until just now. comforting to know one of my favourite musicians shares a similar outlook on this subject as I do.
Dallas Green is so talented and he is one of my favorite artists but i totally disagree witht the lyrics to this song. Cant force your belief on anyone but i sure do hope that he sees the Glory of God. Just my opinion
IF i go to hell after i die. oh man will they down there will have a hard time putting up with me:)
im just saying that sure i believe in god but ima live my life the way i want to. im not gonna believe just cause im scared to go to hell or something. i just dont think hes gonna send us there for wanting to live our lives to the fullest, you cant commit a crime if u dont hurt nobody nor yourself
This song is exactly how I think. I know most people will oppose to this but I believe the world would be a much better place without religion. This isn't meant to disrespect people who are religious it is just my view of the world and what has happened.
@BurntToast5561 Dallas isn't so much saying that there is no god but more that you should question what the church says instead of blindly following... at least thats how I interpret it.
Just wondering where i can get this song? I bought the album, but it wasnt on there...was it on a special version that was released? Hope someone can let me know!=)
I've been really confused about religion lately.. I'm not the type to accept something with no questions asked. The big man in the sky who loves you as long as you get on your knees and give your life to him never sounded right to me. Life shouldn't be all about worshiping a deity we're not even sure exists. This song helped me realize that.
Dallas is one of my favorite musicians ever,I'm a christian. And as a christian you have to respect others religions and whatnot. It's a wide known fact that Dallas is an atheist. And I still do look up to him music-wise. He's really helped me become a better musician by covering songs I've learned so much. His music is amazing and I'll always be a fan
@blackopspwnater13 Well yes you're right. And he has made quite an impact on a lot of people i know(dallas green) I guess i should have been more clear. I just meant religion wise...sorry for the confusion.
This is such a pretty song, but the lyrics are just.. hopeless. It's too bad Dallas doesn't believe in God, he would make such an impact on peoples lives.
@AnastasiaLynnne You don't need to believe in God in order to make an impact on someone's life. Look at Steve Jobs. He was atheist. Look at the impact he made....
I think it takes more faith to have no faith. People should stop putting labels to religion. Saying im this or im not is not the way to go. One of the best songs out there.
I've never heard a song that relates more perfectly to what I believe about religion. Catholic school screws up lives... I can't wait to see Dallas at the Fillmore in November. It will be such a good end to what seems to be such a long make believe year.
Hi Dallas... I think you're an amazing artist and very skillful (i'm a fan)... but I do have to disagree with this one... I think a cynical attitude towards God (and the devil) will always render a persons mind and heart unable to grasp the truth behind Christ and Judgment. But that's all.. Just thought i'd say that...
the truth is, all we can do is believe, and have faith that the outcome is what we believe in. in reality, no one can be 100% sure that God is real or a falsity created by man. but i choose to believe that there is something greater than us out there, and i accept the fact that i might not ever know for sure who/what he/she/it is, but i have faith that whatever is out there, it will lead me to a safe place after my departure. thats really all any of us can do.
i understand where dallas is coming from. you cannot prove that God does not exist, but yet again, you cant prove he does either. the truth is, no one KNOWS, which brings in the aspect of faith. without faith, we could not believe.
he wants us to doubt (like dallas is here). doubting brings on questioning, which is very good! if he wants you to know him better, why not doubt? why not ask questions? why not test what you believe in? because if you dont, do you really believe? Ask yourself.
There is no need to rip down, or look at someone differently because they have a different view. Jesus said, “they will know you are followers of me because of your love for one another.” Do you see that in christian circles??? I certainly don’t! I don’t see the love of God in our denominations.. we are SO devided!!! So why would anyone want to be a part of that? Its pretty sad that the ones who are supposed to be like Jesus are worse than the world. We are all hypocrites!!!
You might think im being very negative, and probably ruining people’s faith, but really, do you ever wonder? Do you ever ask these questions? I think you should. You have to truly understand WHY you believe!!
Now I think, it takes more faith to believe that there is no God, rather than believe that there is no God.
What is the probability of such an intricate creation, even a single cell organism, being a mistake? What is the probability of creation being made by God? ..
do you look at a building and say, “that was just formed out of nothing, no one made it, it was formed by chance!” no, you do not. So ask yourself, “was creation just a freak accident that no one created? Or is there an ultimate being we could not even begin to comprehend who made the heavens and the earth?”
Find out what you believe, no matter what it is, really search to find the answer, and let your search for truth bring you to a conclusion. Don’t let certain aspects of life like hurt and suffering define your answer for not believing in God. Look at the whole picture, from all sides.
No one knows exactly what God is thinking.. it even says in the bible how Gods ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are higher than ours. And I believe if you really, truly want an answer you will find it; the truth will set you free.
This song truly saddens me. i'm a christian and if dallas green could just listen to 5 minuets of my preacher on a sunday afternoon he would have a different outlook on life...

Even though I did not grow up in cathloic school, my grandparents are mormon wel my whole family is except for my parents. And this song says everything that I feel. @SpastnLohee its in his in studio little hell video.. its not in the album, its not this one either. apparently its gonna be released as a single instead.
I too am looking for that other song that was on the little hell sneak peak video. I was disappointed when I discovered it was not on the new album or the bonus song. I have Dallas's managers email and shot him a quick message to inquire. Peraps he's going to release it as a single, if I find out I'll post my findings here.
@TheBlizzard90210 Wow look at you and your connections. Yeah I'm dying to hear that song. I remember it from that short teaser and was totally looking forward to it when the CD came out
@chawk91290 - I e-mailed Dallas' management, here was their reply:
"Hey joseph,
Its a beautiful song. Unfortunately, when all was said and done, Dallas wasn't happy with it. He is still working on it so there will be a wait for everyone to hear it in its entirety.
Sorry - didn't mean to tease. Just wasn't ready for the world by dallas' standards."
Hopefully that gives everybody some clarification.
@higherDEFINITION Thanks for looking into it like that! I really appreciate it. That song jumped out at me the instant I heard the teaser of it. I've been wondering if/when I'd ever get to hear it since. Thank you for giving me at least a bit of hope that someday we'll get to hear it in its entirety. Gotta love Dallas' commitment to perfection and releasing only music he is proud of. It's completely worth it & I'm willing to wait. Cheers.
@TheBlizzard90210 I have VIP tickets to his Portsmouth gig on July 3rd so I'll be sure to ask him as I want that song too, I'll post his response here :)
@TheBlizzard90210 He just answered the question I believe in his most recent interview with Triple J... apparently it was originally for alexisonfire, then he brought it back to city and colour, however couldn't finish it for the album. Apparently it's name is "Young Lovers" right now, however unfortunately it's not ready yet... why tease then? I dunno.
@methad123 Just listened to the interview, great one. Not releasing this song makes me sad because it sounded like it would be amazing, hope he releases as a single soon.
@wildrandomphil it's unreleased. It was in the Little Hell preview video. But he didn't like it or didn't feel like it was ready to come out with this record. It was the one out of them all that made me replay that preview video over and over for the little bit of the song haha. Hopefully he completes and gets it out soon :)
@dingosatemybabies it's refreshing to hear the truth and honesty in music nowadays, huh? love this guy so fucking much. there are no words to describe it.
@iBlockandiKill I know which one you are talking about. i'm searching for it too...oh elephant in the back of the room, i want to roam the hills with you...
@dingosatemybabies it might be one of the songs that just did not make the cut for this album. if you follow him as closely as i do (which i'm sure you do lol) then you'll remember he said he had about 15 songs ready for an album but was only going to use about ten. I'm sure he will be saving it for the next album. its a great way to keep fans hungry though. you can see how popular the unreleased song is
what other songs do i not know about? this made my day :)

Why would a mistake – or a random happening be so complicated?
Do you think its easier believing in God, or nothing?
What would you rather base yourself upon?
If life is random, why do people try to find meaning?
Why don’t more people give up?

Its because we were made to have communion; a relationship with God.

@TheBlizzard90210 what other song?
wildrandomphil 4 months ago
@wildrandomphil it's unreleased. It was in the Little Hell preview video. But he didn't like it or didn't feel like it was ready to come out with this record. It was the one out of them all that made me replay that preview video over and over for the little bit of the song haha. Hopefully he completes and gets it out soon :)
