  • @NodDisciple1 "The Mark of the Rani" episode 2, the third story in Season 22

  • Delgado beats Ainley anyday..

  • Geena Davis or Dana Delany as the new Rani

  • i wish the character rights were cleared up bcos the Rani would be awesome for a return

  • What episode is this?

  • He and Colin Baker answered their own mail too. Really nice men but friends told me not to get too close to Anthony Ainley. They were right. He was a lecher. He wanted to show me around London and bring me to his home.

  • The Rani and the Master. Perfect. Anthony Ainley is amazing anyway, but add a female villain. Bring it on. Bring the Rani back!!!

  • I'd like to watch the whole series, but I wouldn't know how to pull it off. So many of the episodes are literally gone now from the earliest days, let alone some are still only available on VHS/Beta antiques! I am a sad panda. :'(

  • @NodDisciple1 They are links for all on watchseries.eu and if that doesn't work they are all on dailymotion including reconstructions of the missing ones with the audio.

  • Delgado the original master died as we know, and the last episode of the thrid doctor was planned to have the master sacrifice himself to save the doctor and the universe

  • Hehe " were trapped you blundering women!" dont get sayings like that any more

  • Maybe River Song is the Rani and its all an elaborate plan to kill the Doctor! Or maybe not.

  • felicia day for the new RANI

  • i love this scene!

  • This looks really good.

    Decided to buy it.

  • 1.22 ...reminds me of my parents....

  • Bring back the Rani !!

  • wow, that's really... bad. two guys in black pushing each other around and growling, what?

  • i met the rani years ago and it was so obvious that she'd had facelifts if they wanted to bring the rani back they could use the original

  • Evil Rani XD That's when the Master stopped trying to flirt with her

  • @Noimnotyouarenoob Ghostbusters!

  • The new series is really hurting for a Time Lady...

  • ok, nothing to do with dr who, but this is a serious question i need help with. i think my house may be haunted or something, but too scared to do anything wat should i do

  • I really like the Rani's tardis console

  • They're always bickering like a couple, those evil Time Lords :)

  • I will NEVER get sick of watching the Rani knee the Master in the groin. CLASSIC.

  • @maidmcostumer Clearly that's one part of Timelord anatomy similar to humans :p

  • I hope they bring the Rani back and give her better stories. She could be a fantastic villian with a good story.

  • met colin baker such a wonderful man! so kind. and the rani a legand and the guy who played the master then is awesome

  • @withintemptationrock can I ask, who plays the Rani?

  • @Ereldor

I Don't know Why a Much smarter person then me, didn't answer?? But Since I just came across this Clip of "The Rani" she's at his point in time, 1939 to 2010 would be 71 'ish Kate O'Mara

    imdb DOT com/name/nm0641817/bio

    Enjoy..

  • @bcbandit123 ok thanks man

  • @Ereldor

No Problem, Anything to Help, I knew the last name I had to search for the First..

  • @withintemptationrock Anthony Ainley, he really was a treasure. He loved playing the Master so much, he wouldn't take any other parts. He would even answer his phone THIS IS THE MASTER! (evil laugh)

  • @srvfan454 I consider Anthony Ainley to be the tom baker of the master

  • lol a match made in evil heaven

  • who is the best actor who played the master and the doctor?

  • @94kathryn

With the Master, its gotta be Roger Delgado, no question. He was just so suave, yet downright scary. Every other Master actor was living in his shadow, I think.

And its got to be Tom, of course, for the best Doctor. I don't actually know who would be the second best, because everyone else is very good in their own different styles. They all bring forth qualities that make the essential character of the Doctor, Tom Baker was just this perfect storm of all of them at once.

  • the actress who played peri miss nicola bryant is a fantastic actress when she uses her native british accent the producers should have never made her speak with an american accent because this seriously hampered her acting ability.

  • To this was done to appeal to the american fanbase and help the show sell in the states, but I agree, she shouldn't have had to speak with an american accent .

  • I think maybe she's our revenge for Dick Van Dyke, every "british" character in that X-Files episode with the firestarter, and all American-"British" accents generally.

  • @ApocalypseNext hahaha nice one!

  • I am one of those who enjoyed the Sixth Doctor and Peri, despite others' reservations. I think they gelled well together as a team, and the stories were fun and imaginative. I liked 'em!

  • Agreed. Season 22 had some of the best stories of the whole show. Plot-wise Doctor Who hadn't been as good since season 15.

  • Plot-wise, it has been.

  • @concertinasoup Me too. Six and Peri had a great relationship dynamic. And this particulary episode made me laugh so much back when I first saw it, expecially the Master's ill-fated attempts to flirt with the Rani. As you see, it didn't end well XD Poor Master, they always wiped the floor with him back in the classic series.

  • No it wouldn't.

Best evil couple and the worst companion ever in Doctor Who.

  • No, that would be Melanie, who followed after Peri.

  • Wouldn't it basically not matter if the Rani's tardis was buried?

  • Imn abook considered canon by most fans they escape very easily becuase the T-Rex breaks it's spine on the ceiling of Rani's Tardis. And also it's been a rumor of a daughter of Rani being used in the new series.

  • oh sorry, I think it's a dinosaur or a lizard.

  • I really want to watch these classic episodes but the effects are just so horrible. That crocodile! come on!

  • so is the rani a time lord? i dont get who or wat the rani is ment to be...someone help me!!!

  • The Rani was most definately a Timelord herself. A "renegade" one. And very well played too by Kate O'Mara.

  • shes a timelady who was banished from galifrey after her giant lab rat eat the presdants pet cat

  • I love the Master and the Rani; they make such a great double act.

  • 1.26...... take that Master lol.

  • haha. It would be funny to see how John Simms as the master took it. XD

  • is the rani like a timelord?

  • yes

  • yupp... well a "time lady".

  • she's also portayed by scully aka gillian anderson in episode dated january 1st 2010.

the master is the good guy.

    wars of the master

    sorry, the master of wars.

    damnit....the waters of mars.

    14/11/09

  • this is a clip of the original series like from the 70's i think

  • The mid 80's.

  • 1985

  • By "now" do you mean the 80's?

  • i thoughtthey show doctor who in HD from 2009 but why isnt this atleast in widescreen?

  • Because it would degrade from the quality, and you'd have to crop it. It wasn't shot in widescreen, too old.

  • Thank you! I love ur vid BTW

  • Which doctor is this?

  • sixth-Colin Baker

  • tsk - 'an unearthly child' is every bit as much as milestone in the history of doctor who (and indeed tv sci-fi of all genres) as the first episode of star trek or any of its offspring :)

  • Ok, I see why you ask that kurumais, I does look like it, but I think she elbowed him in the gut, knocked the wind outta him. Ha ha, funny though! This is a novel experience for me, cause I first read this episode as a novelization and now am seeing it for first time. :-D I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!!! 1963-2008! Can't wait till 2010?!!!!

  • did she hit him in the nads?

  • Hey, that's a cool episode! Is this an internet drama or it went on tv? For sure, I'll watch the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc episode in order!

  • Dr. Who's been showing on the BBC since 1963... you'll be hard pressed to watch the entire series in order.

  • Woah! Tks for the info! Well, I think I have a life so I'll forget about that! I thought it was a serie that started in the 90s!!!!

  • Well, around 1985 the show went on a hiatus and didn't start up again till 2005. When it re-started they aimed to make the "new series" accessible for people who didn't follow it back in the day, so you can watch the 3-4 seasons since 2005 relatively stand alone.

  • Tks again for the info but don't count on me to go back to episode 1 in 1963!!!!

  • I am a Tom Baker-Dr. Who fan. I think he was the best actor that did the part.

  • Agreed !!!
