@3FootStarfish That sounds like an awesome theory, but would probably only work as a mod. It would have to be triggered before the TNT's descent in the arched trajectory went too far, so you get a full effect of arrows blasting everywhere. Otherwise it's more of a thrown minecraft satchel-charge.

I'm overthinking it, I'm sure, but I really like the idea of sort of an arrow claymore mine, or a spray of arrows directed down a cannon barrel.

Well, nice tutorial but I must say the design is rather inefficient. Some months ago I made an automated flaming arrow bomb with directional arrows, faster reloading and most importantly: Flaming frikking arrows! (Based on upgraded version of my first arrow bomb which I made back in Alpha 1.1)

I Made it Fully automatic so that the dispenser shoot very fast so it loads alot of arrows at once. but made 2 switches so u can put the tnt on whenever u want. If U want pictures Ill Post it on reddit if u want! :)

you can also combine that mechanism with a Piston so you can set the direction were it goes:

The Dispenser shots on an extended Piston; The TNT gots Activated and after 9 Repeaters on full delay the Piston goes in. The range of the arrows are dependet on how much TNT you put in(by 9 TNT it is a range for about 120 Blocks

@giannidiz water nulls the terrain destruction from the TNT, blow up TNT in the water clsoe to you, you feel the damage like a regular block of TNT, but no terrain is destroyed.

rapid pulser hooked up to a 4 pillar extruded tower of arrows? Let it run for 5s on EXTENDED PISTONS, at 10.7 seconds let the arrows fall (10.7s after the tnt is lit) = ARROW FRENZYYYYYY! :)
