  • @MusicPredominates - Rubbish! France, a willing victim of the German hordes? OK, different war, but tell that to Jehan Alain, who so hated the Nazis that he killed sixteen of them in their attempt to kill him. Anyway, Germany was just as Catholic, even in England the Catholic church was as big as the Anglican church. This piece is nothing to do with war anyway.

  • @MusicPredominates - Protestant England, where Catholics were slaughtered. All humanity has fought 'aliens' at some point in history. The organ is no "instrument of self-deification", whatever that means! The Pope is NOT the Anti-Christ. I refer you to 3 recent popes: Pius XII, who did so much to assist and shelter Jews during WW2. John Paul II, a crucial figure in the Anti-Communist movement in Poland. Benedict XVI, who has done much to heal the wounds caused by child abuse.

  • @TheMysticalOrgan : The blessed English and Scots and Welsh Protestants that died for Catholique France. When Rome persecuted the French Protestants the Te Deum was played. When Hitler entered Austria a Te Deum was played. Organ music is essentially a blind by the Pope - 'old red socks'.

  • @TheMysticalOrgan : Popes not minding their own business ! The West might not be so chained up by neo-liberalism if the Soviet Union remained so ! But what would 'Pope' care ?

  • @beano1eye - so you really think that a return to Marxist dictatorships would be an improvement on neoliberal democracy? I'm not saying that the latter is by any means perfect (I'd prefer an absolute monarchy with legally-binding referendums on ministers' performance) but the brutality and suffering under Marxism was far, far worse.

  • @TheMysticalOrgan I honestly have not seen this upload until just now, I forgot to sign out of Youtube at the internet cafe, and some cretin has decided to make some of their thoughts known under my account name, these are not my views, they have been made fraudulently using my account, and I take no responsibility for them! PEACE OUT!

  • Bravo - you did an excellent job playing such a wonderful instrument and in such a wonderful room. THe accoustics in that room make you phrase very, oh so very carefully on Hymns and Masterworks such as the Piece Heroique. Keep up the good work.

  • all the boxes should be wide open at 5:48 and great to pedal coupler deployed - main theme in pedal at this point. and at 6:00 the 16' big pedal reeds deployed.

  • I thought St John the Divine was EM Skinner

  • @steelersfanhawaii The original instrument was an EMSkinner. Then Aeolian-Skinner renovated the instrument. Then Michael Quimby organ company updated, cleaned, rewired, etc....just about everything in the organ is new except pipe work. The organ sounds wonderful. You should consider purchasing "From Ashes to Glory DVD from ProOrgano. Excellent! Highly recommended and should be in your library if you like excellent organ music and organists who were on a recital series
