insanely strong dude! what is the purpose of this movement? i never saw this before! looks like powerlifting partial reps... by the way, awesome strenght!
My rack pulls are actually less than my regular deadlift anybody have any idea why that is? Best dead is 445lbs. For rack pull (just below the knee), I couldn't budge the bar at 450lbs. I only got about 425 once and repping 405 was pretty hard. I also felt the majority of the lift in my lower back as opposed to my glutes. I'm not accustomed to R-pulls so any insight would be appreciated. (BW 187lbs)
@TheRugbyidiot I would guess that you have strong legs? Legs initiate the full deadlift, where as the back is the initiator in rack pulls. Just a guess without seeing your lifts, but I would work on bringing up your lower back. Rack pulls and good mornings are a great way to do so.....
man your range of motion is way too short to call those rack pulls. please go back to the gym with your cam and upload a pull from knee height or lower. i can see your obviously very strong so i want to see how much you can pull from knee cap or lower.
i know its good to shock your body with heavier weight than your used to but because its such little travel does it help your lockout at all rather than doing it at nee level!!!!!!
Awesome work, i just pulled 900x2 today. Arbitrary conversation, do you ever alter your starting position? I find that I like to start bent forward more to try and let the weight pull me into a movement more aligned to from the floor stuff. Thoughts? I just started doing these 4 weeks ago. Still new. And who cares about the height it's CNS programming not muscle building! Again, great work!
RIGHT ON!! You tube is filled with scared little girls that actually think their worthy of giving advice about strength training. They are weak, scared and always will be.
I think that's what powerlifters go through everyday. You see a guy lifting 1000+ pounds as the main event, with some little fagg in the background "isolating muscles" to get "huge and ripped". Bravo, 4/5!
To each his own. I don't hate on people, but I know you said it should have been one pin lower and all. I'm just saying that I do ...ALOT......of rack pulls and I always go one pin below the knee and I pull close to 600 for up to 10 reps. I would be very impressed if you could lower the pin to just below the knee and one good rep. You look strong and I believe you can get it maybe more. Peace.
no offence, you are obviously extremely strong and if i tried that my spine would snap in 2 but you can't call that a rack pull. your propping it up on top of your thighs and levering it up. good way to destroy bars but i don't know why you would do that?
The rack pull was set up for me, it should have been set at a pin lower. But i just went ahead and did it anyway. I did bend the bar but don't tell anyone. Hey, Thanks for not being to negative about it.. Anyway, Arnold said that it was ok to cheat. Ha.Ha.
Thanks for the positive comment! I do realize it should have been done at knee level like yours. Actually, watching your video was what inspired me to do my rack pull. Stay strong and keep lifting!!!
Hey,what's up? I'm not sure what kind of bar i used but it is a little longer than the other ones we have at the YMCA. I can fit more black plates on versus the 1st silver one you see due to thickness. Keep lifting and stay strong. D
he gets to lifting it at 1:23

makes the bar look like rubber. very impressive!

Are you focusing on back or legs? I see your back is very upright for rack pulls and legs are bending...
cfin28 2 years ago
I was just focusing on moving the weight. I did feel it from the top of my back all the way down my legs.

@smith2984 thats your spine compressing :p

Fail. Show us a vid of a rack pull from the knee or lower or don't bother.

does rack pulls make you stronger in the deadlift?
mr123sten 2 years ago
yes, partial movements will make you stronger in any type of lift.
smith2984 2 years ago
@mr123sten yes but this is way to high they should be done from the knees usually it looks like this guy is working on his lockout

@icopros I was thinking the same thing 2. Good way to destroy your back for nothing too. He's hyper extending his back like hell.

1035 is ridiculous weight no matter where you're lifting it from. To do 6 reps with it is insane. Well done!

What kind of bar is that? My bar only fits 9 plates at the most but I think my plates might be a tad thicker.
