Dude, I have an Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.9GHz and it maybe takes 45 seconds to boot either Vista or 7. That's also knowing I have a shitty ECS motherboard in which the BIOS takes 10-20 seconds to boot from power on to OS boot, 2GB DDR2 667 RAM that is four years old...
i have pentium 4 HT 524 3.06GHZ 1GB RAM 333 mhz 80 gb hdd windows XP professional it boots up in 40 seconds Toshiba l305D amd athlon 64 x2 ql65 2.10GHZ 2GB ram 160 hard disk Windows 7 ultimate it boots up in 1 minute
That isnt THAT slow. But its still slower then my P4 2.4Ghz with 1gig ddr-400m ram.
What do i recommend? Run disk defrag if you haven't already. That will speed things up quite a bit.
Also, run a virus check on your computer and see if there are any viruses. I recommend AVG for that. Also, run SpyBot S&D to check for adware and spyware.
Its very strange, my brand-new super-duper computer takes longer (1:30) to boot than my 5 year-old laptop, which boots in about 30 seconds. Usually the problem is that the BIOS is not streamlined.
You're not interested in seeing what the performance capabilities of the setup might be? If I wanted to build a computer with a 5600+ in it this would be of interest to me. Nevertheless, I doubt this is really a 5600+, but if it is then the rest of the machine probably has terrible hardware. A 5600+ should start up a lot faster than that! My guess is filmman007 either edited the video to make the bootup seem slower or (more likely) he has a swath of viruses invading his computer making it slow.
I have an AMD 5600+ 2GB of Crucial Ballistix 800Mhz RAM and Asus Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb and my PC boots CRAZY FAST, and I even have a BUDGET ECS NFORCE6M-A motherboard...
Must be your hard drive, try defragging and cleaning off what you don't use. I have 320GB mine runs CRAZY quick!
if you using IDE hard drives then thats your problem because Sata are like 30 times faster windows xp loads from a hard drive so keep in mind sata do 1.5b/s or 3gb/s depends which you get compared to IDE 300mb/s which is slow
Which Operating system do you use? When i format my computer the first boottime take about 15 seconds, but when i instal al the drivers my boot time is this ^, weird :S
i don't know too much on this matter mate but one solution could be more RAM another could be quicker HDD and finally if non of that works you could partition your hard drive and only but windows on C: drive this is because windows reads all of C when it boots up like you said its slower when you have installed all you shizz more stuff to read
I got a normal Sata II HDD from segeate, one of the fasted tested here in holland :P
And when i format my system and only instal the drivers it's starting to boot slow. I think a driver isue or something. But in game it's a realy kick ass CPU :D My 3Dmark CPU score is 2142 :P and with my 8800 GTS it's 9100 3Dmarks 06
hmm well maybe its an issue you should take to AMD or Microsoft, or NVIDIA, but if you do partition your drive it does make it alot quicker on boot up, i can boot like a mac lol =]
well what i have done is created a small partition for and put windows on that all other things on the other partition that way your computer has less to read when it boots up ...i think =p
when flash drives replace hard drive we will see instant on operating systems like we do with Pocket Pc's I have a friend who works for sandisk and he said it is in the works, he couldn't say too much, but he did say they are testing a 200GB flash drive as we speak with a OS.. wont say who's os...
lol so I suppose we update to Vista so it can be even more slow and buggy and not work right.. The problem is people can't wait for anything.. Go back to dialup on a windows 95 and you will appreciate xp and not call it very old..
One thing with xp is I find that if I update to sp2 and install all of the service packs it runs real slow, I have sp1 and when I first install it holy smokes is it fast. And you know I ran sp1 without any security updates just standard av and firewall software and never had any problems until I visited some porn site.. bastards..
yea, I bet your processor is good for gaming but not at boot. I have a e6400, 2bb ram, 7900gt, etc. And its been taking about 1:20 to boot when use to only take about 30secs.
The weird thing is, It's with al 5600+ processors :S, when is format my computer and boot for the first time i took 30 sec, after installing the drivers etc it goes slow. Never mind in game it is realy fast :D
