  • Dude, I have an Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.9GHz and it maybe takes 45 seconds to boot either Vista or 7. That's also knowing I have a shitty ECS motherboard in which the BIOS takes 10-20 seconds to boot from power on to OS boot, 2GB DDR2 667 RAM that is four years old...

  • Its because you got AMD, buy a intel instead (and yes i know this is 3 years old)

  • tune up utilities...

  • Probably your anti-virus.

  • i have pentium 4 HT 524 3.06GHZ 1GB RAM 333 mhz 80 gb hdd windows XP professional it boots up in 40 seconds Toshiba l305D amd athlon 64 x2 ql65 2.10GHZ 2GB ram 160 hard disk Windows 7 ultimate it boots up in 1 minute
  • slow shit

  • my rig

HP SLIMLINE S3400Z CTO(CONFIGURE TO ORDER)

2.9GHZ AMD ATHLON DUAL CORE 64 BIT

    4GBS OF CRUCIAL PC2 6400 RAM

    250GB SATA 7200RPM HARD DRIVE

    MSI ATI RADEON HD 4550(OVERCLOCKED) 1GB PCI E 16X 2.0 DDR3

WITH UP TO 2GBS HYPER MEMORY(LOW PROFILE)

    16X DVD(+/-)R/RW 12X RAM (+/-)R DL LIGHTSCRIBE SATA

    VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32 BIT

  • :-o

  • Dis processor sukks, and I say that with love ( CUS I GOT RIPPED BY ONE DOOD WHO SOLD MER ONE AND IT SUKKED KOOCKED)

  • 3 programs u need for this, it's advance systemcare, ccleaner, spybot, (they are all free and they really work)

  • thats how fast my gateway essential pc boots up only 20 seconds faster

  • Maybe you don't belive me but my 8 years old computer tu boots up less than 30-seconds

  • why would you add the cpu to the video title,

if you think its what determines how fast it boots up, your way off

i have a athlon 4600+ and with a well configured bios and OS the whole process doesnt take over 15secs

  • That isnt THAT slow. But its still slower then my P4 2.4Ghz with 1gig ddr-400m ram.

What do i recommend? Run disk defrag if you haven't already. That will speed things up quite a bit.

Also, run a virus check on your computer and see if there are any viruses. I recommend AVG for that. Also, run SpyBot S&D to check for adware and spyware.

  • reformat

  • SmartClose incress 80 percent pc speed

  • no.

  • msconfig will

  • Its very strange, my brand-new super-duper computer takes longer (1:30) to boot than my 5 year-old laptop, which boots in about 30 seconds. Usually the problem is that the BIOS is not streamlined.

  • Msconfig in run cmd, figure out what's causing that. Update Bios. My back up tower 3000+ AMD is way faster then that.

  • I have a 5600 x2 and booting in 12 seconds

  • good for u

  • lol my Windows Home Edition load ~ 0.5 min )))) on AMD 5600+ 2 GB RAM

  • maybe you have adware or a virus .. when i got adware on my pc it took about 5 mins to load up

  • dude, how much ram do u got??? I got 768 mb. ram w/a 4800+ and it's faster than that. But, it also has 174gb free HDD space.

  • dell optiplex GX240 1GB ram , 2.00GHz cpu , ATI Radeon X1650 512mb , 40GB Hd , windows xp sp2 Games Installed WoW , quake4 , quake3 , farcry

  • Hey since your booting is slow , but your startup is faster than mine 4X times faster ....i got a lame com that 7th years ages....LOL

  • its painful enough watching my own computer boot. Wtf am I doing watching a video of someone elses compter booting? I need help.

  • with what

  • You're not interested in seeing what the performance capabilities of the setup might be? If I wanted to build a computer with a 5600+ in it this would be of interest to me. Nevertheless, I doubt this is really a 5600+, but if it is then the rest of the machine probably has terrible hardware. A 5600+ should start up a lot faster than that! My guess is filmman007 either edited the video to make the bootup seem slower or (more likely) he has a swath of viruses invading his computer making it slow.

  • I have the same processor..

    and its WELL faster.

  • I have an AMD 5600+ 2GB of Crucial Ballistix 800Mhz RAM and Asus Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb and my PC boots CRAZY FAST, and I even have a BUDGET ECS NFORCE6M-A motherboard...

Must be your hard drive, try defragging and cleaning off what you don't use. I have 320GB mine runs CRAZY quick!

  • Hey man, Easy on ECS sure your board is "budget" but they make good enthusiest boards as well.

    ECS KA3 MVP Extreme

    AMD Athlon64 5600+

    2Gb WinTec Amp-X DDR2 800

    ATi Radeon HD 2600Xt

    250Gb SATA2

  • try defraging it... I remember when I first put xp on my machine boot took forever, defraged and it took a fraction of the time.

  • Try Tuneup Utilities 2007 and do a Tuneup system optimize. That should do the trick.

  • dude common....i have same protsessor and my boot takes about 30 sec......

  • dude that exactly the same as mine it takes forever!

  • dude that ifs frikin fast compared to m brand new AMDTurion laptop.

  • try linux

  • if you using IDE hard drives then thats your problem because Sata are like 30 times faster windows xp loads from a hard drive so keep in mind sata do 1.5b/s or 3gb/s depends which you get compared to IDE 300mb/s which is slow

  • u have oblivion on that peice of crap? lol

  • umbla prin bios si vezi care e treaba

  • What ? :P

  • HOYL CRAP YOU THINK THATS SLOW!!! mine takes about 5 minutes to be useable

  • Wooaw, that's slow to. But this system should boot up in less then 30 seconds. :S

  • try doing a windows update

  • But that makes my Computer slower :p I think, a while ago when i updated my Pc whas slow as a snail :S

  • it is normal, depends what kind of hdd u use if its a IDE hdd its gonna be slower than a SATA Hdd. get a sata drive that should fix it.

  • well i've got a SATA II Drive :S you can't know That either ?! :p

  • I understand you have an AWESOME PC, but to utilize its full potential, get a better monitor...

  • Im going to have a Samsung SyncMaster 931BW ;-)

  • Weird i got the same processor, a 320gb WD HD,a 8800 gts , and 2gbs of ram but I boot in only 14 seconds.

  • Which Operating system do you use? When i format my computer the first boottime take about 15 seconds, but when i instal al the drivers my boot time is this ^, weird :S

  • AMD is shit full stop! just a cheap excuse for INTEL which i might say pwns all ? lol

  • i don't know too much on this matter mate but one solution could be more RAM another could be quicker HDD and finally if non of that works you could partition your hard drive and only but windows on C: drive this is because windows reads all of C when it boots up like you said its slower when you have installed all you shizz more stuff to read

  • i've got 2 gigs of ram so that's oké :P

I got a normal Sata II HDD from segeate, one of the fasted tested here in holland :P

And when i format my system and only instal the drivers it's starting to boot slow. I think a driver isue or something. But in game it's a realy kick ass CPU :D My 3Dmark CPU score is 2142 :P and with my 8800 GTS it's 9100 3Dmarks 06

  • hmm well maybe its an issue you should take to AMD or Microsoft, or NVIDIA, but if you do partition your drive it does make it alot quicker on boot up, i can boot like a mac lol =]

  • I have 2 partitions, C and Backup D, split one drive into 2. Do you mean; If i Install windows on the Bachup D i will boot up alot faster ?? :P

  • well what i have done is created a small partition for and put windows on that all other things on the other partition that way your computer has less to read when it boots up ...i think =p

  • oke Ty :P

  • just try to defrag your drive + uninstall any useless tools + disable usless windows services. that's it :)

  • Thanks. But i already did that. Don't matter :(

But Thx for the replay ;)

  • when flash drives replace hard drive we will see instant on operating systems like we do with Pocket Pc's I have a friend who works for sandisk and he said it is in the works, he couldn't say too much, but he did say they are testing a 200GB flash drive as we speak with a OS.. wont say who's os...

  • Windows XP is very old for modern configurations of course.

  • lol so I suppose we update to Vista so it can be even more slow and buggy and not work right.. The problem is people can't wait for anything.. Go back to dialup on a windows 95 and you will appreciate xp and not call it very old..

  • Yes, I try windows 98 on pentium 3. It was looks like 486 PC. Very, very slow! Good luck for modern PC with xp or win 98. :D

  • One thing with xp is I find that if I update to sp2 and install all of the service packs it runs real slow, I have sp1 and when I first install it holy smokes is it fast. And you know I ran sp1 without any security updates just standard av and firewall software and never had any problems until I visited some porn site.. bastards..

  • yea, I bet your processor is good for gaming but not at boot. I have a e6400, 2bb ram, 7900gt, etc. And its been taking about 1:20 to boot when use to only take about 30secs.

  • Check your PIO settings if you have a IDE drive, if not then im not sure..Defrag or take away some startup applications.

  • Mu DVD rw is an IDE Drive, where i can find the PIO Settings ? :$

  • Probably means bios...

  • my comp boots nigga quick!

  • yea, seen a sempron 3000+ with 512mb ram boot in 35 secs.

  • The weird thing is, It's with al 5600+ processors :S, when is format my computer and boot for the first time i took 30 sec, after installing the drivers etc it goes slow. Never mind in game it is realy fast :D

  • very slow for that proccesor.
