I like all cultures, what's so wrong with that? I grew up outside of Somalia in a diverse area and so I've experienced many cultures and I like learning about more. Like I said, I'm Muslim first so I follow the Quran, which states that we should not discriminate based on ethnicity or tribe, which I don't do.

cutegual, am Eritrean, but I just wanted to let you know that there are actualy Afar people in Ethiopia, they actualy have their own state, Afar state. They are also located in Djibuti and Somali land. They are preaty much in all the countries of the horn of Africa. Great people.

aman1844 you are right but if you want to get technical then afar are more eritreans than ethiopians since afar (adals) are one of the kushtic tribes that migrated to east africa part of the hamitic migration with most of the eritrean tribes between 1000bc and 4000bc,if you go back 6000 years ago most of the eritrean tribes wouldve been nighbours but in the arabian peninsula.one of the last kushtic tribes to come to eritrea were the hidarebs from yemen.

How do you get technical with this issue? What ever the migrations are as you mentioned, the Afar Ethiopians or Djibutians are Afar and they have every reason to celebrate their culture. I have a strong belief that even the so called Amhara's and Tigres are not the beneficiaries of all the failed poliecies. But as a person who happens to come from the back ground of Tigrigna and Amhara, I have a great respect for Afars (and all others). I strogly believe that we can co-exist peacefuly and with respect.
