About the story bit... This game doesn't tell you any story at the beginning, because they removed the intro from the Japanese version when they removed all the pink-crap references from it.
"Or Maybe You Like A Spread Shot Weapon Like These Playing Cards"Just so you know, the Japanese like to put cultural stuff in their games, in other words those are not playing cards, thats the Japanese flag hes shooting out his hand at 0:56. I know it was a joke, I just wanted you to knows those weren't cards at 0:56, those were Japanese flags he was shooting out his hand.
Never mine, I played the game on the computer and found out, hes shooting aces/cards at the enemy, but from the video it look like little Japanese flags were being shot out his hand.
Pretty good review Pelord. Never heard of this game before and not too familiar with the TurboGrafx, but I'll probably download this after watching your review.
Good job, dude. If I had but one suggestion, it would be either to make your voicetrack louder or the game music softer, because at times I was unable to hear you that well.
This game really reminds of Super Earth Defense Force, though. It's the same horizontal shooter, although SEDF seems to be a little more advanced. My neighbor sold it to me for 50 cents in circa 1994, so that's how I know about it. You should seriously check it out.
I really didn't think the music drowned out my voice too much, but I agree that I should try changing the sound levels a bit more... and not just because of this video.
I personally believe that Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog are more in-depth games... and as I said, I like the sound in those games better. Only reason I don't have those games on VC is because I played them back on the original systems way too much, and they can easily be bought through various re-releases and collections. The fact Air Zonk is a 'rarer' game that I enjoyed a lot makes it stand out to me.
All your base are belong to us !!! :D love Bonk.other turbo graphix games i loved is , splatter house, legendary axe, Dungeon explorer, Neutopia.

I don't remember it making much sense, though.

I've read a bit about the Japanese version and all the differences, I was a bit surprised as to how much censorship was actually done.

Heh heh, now that this great game is on the Wii can anyone beat my world record of 30, 332, 430points here?

How do you know it's a world record? Are you recognised as the holder of that record by any officials?...

Yeah, it's in the Twingalaxies website and EGM magazine

This is my first time actually 'owning' the game, I never had a TG16, but I still played this game a lot when Toys 'R' Us had it on display.
