  • These are great sounding el pianos and D6, but I got Vintage Keys bundle from Native Instruments for 75 €, and Rhodes, Wurly and D6 sound even better. Of course, Nord has more sounds...

  • what is the sound @4:00 called, brilliant video btw :)

  • Yamaha met it's match

  • stuck at nord stage or yamaha s70 xs. :|

  • @banguso s70xs = arp

  • Bought it! Love it!

  • What is the amplification you are using? This is a great sounding piano, and I'm wondering whether the amplification is a factor? Thanks

  • The sound you're hearing in this video is recorded directly from the Nord Stage EX into our camera. No additional amplifier was used. However, you will need to plug the Nord Stage into some kind of amplifier or speaker system, so this will be a factor when you use the Nord Stage for a performance. Thanks for watching!

  • @kraftmusic How did you get the instrument to play if you did not use a speaker?

  • @numanuma20

The line outputs of the keyboard were plugged into a mixing board and then sent to our camera. An auxiliary send from the mixer was sent to a pair of powered monitor speakers so Chris could hear himself play without wearing headphones. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

  • Compared to the Korg sv-1? Anyone have an opinion?

  • Thanks guys for a wonderful demo. Chris is cool. Still tryin to choose between Nord Stage & Yamaha S90ES.

  • this was very help full. This Chris Martirano guy is an amazing player and explainer.... He convinced me to rub a bank, take the money and buy the nord stage.

  • this video has absolutely convinced me!

  • Hi I just watched this, and although I love this synth, I also want to comment on how amazing Chris Martirano is haha, I know it may seem weird, but wow, he can really play some music!

  • Yeah, he's a great player and we hope to have him back at Kraft Music for more demos. Thanks for watching!

  • If you want a keyboard with pianos rhodes, organ and true synth sounds, and be able to tweak and layers and split all of them together anyway you like. Get this board. The other popular brands like yamaha roland and korg, have good marketing and gimmicks, but soundwise they can't touch the Nord. Not even close.

  • simply beatiful sound...

  • Emerson lake n palmer !

  • the organ sounds like the one from TRIUMVERAT........ 70 progrock band

  • @mysticradio im planning on buying it just because of its prog rock capabilities! the piano sounds great, the synth sounds exellent and I just cant wait for the organ!

  • I can't believe I'm saying this, but that upright sounds fantastic.

  • The best demo of the great Nord Stage I have seen. Chris plays nice and shows the best of every sound. I have it, love and will keep it as long as it works.

  • When you buy a Nord, you are buying a $2000-$4000 piano/organ sound. Forget the functions that come with the synthesizers. If you play jazz, or classical, or need a rock organ, this is the board to get. If you want a versatile instrument that can get you through any gig. Then look elsewhere. They are the best sounding instruments on the market, and the most limited

  • Does this keyboard have any acoustic bass sounds? I play jazz and I normally use bass/piano split. Thanks.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Nord Stage EX. The Nord Stage does not feature any acoustic bass sounds, but you can program some pretty convincing synth bass sounds. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

  • @kraftmusic

is there any possible way to upload samples to a Nord Stage EX

other than those of the Nord Library

lets say a wav file, or something from logic or philarmonik or whatever

    thanks

  • Hi,

I don't believe this is possible. The samples from the Nord Library are a special proprietary format that can only be used with the Nord Stage or Nord Piano. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

  • @kraftmusic hello, is it possible to load some piano samples from nord piano library or mellotron sound from nord electro 3 library ?

    kind regards

  • @ryancangri I'm sure you could set up splits with some sort of synth bass on the lower part of the keyboard and any other sound for the upper part of the split.

  • I like the part from 5:48, where you demonstrate how can it be used live

  • OMG! It is absolutely awesome!! :-)

  • Can you load sounds from the Nord Sample Library, or only the Piano Library?

  • Hi,

On the Nord Stage EX you can only load samples from the Nord Piano Library. The only pieces that support the Nord Sample Library are the Nord Wave and Nord Electro 3. Thanks for your interest!

  • How many sounds can you layer? And can you have certain effects affecting only one of the sounds? Let say I want a nice grand piano, layered with some rhodes with chorus, and a string pad coming in on aftertouch, that I can modulate with a pedal? Wonder if thats possible :P

  • OK, you can layer up to six sounds (two per section). A layer of piano, organ, and strings can be saved as a "panel" and the Nord Stage has two panels (A and B) that can played simultaneously. Regarding the effects, the two multi-effects processors (chorus, flanger, phaser) and delay processor can each be assigned to one of your sections (piano, organ, strings). The reverb and compressor affects the main output of the keyboard.

  • the baroque prelude is from Bach's French Suites. Emerson ripped it off.

  • I need one badly. Gotta get one.

  • I recognize the baroque counter-pointer figure in the harpsichord demo. That's from ELP's "Knife Edge"! Cool.

  • Just got one of these! It's the bomb!

  • hi there, I dont suppose you know if there is a nord stage piano with a bass split ? as i need to play bass guitar in my left hand?

  • Hello,

Yes, you can split this keyboard any way you like. However, there are no bass guitar sounds built-in. You can call up some pretty convincing synth bass sounds to use instead...Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

  • @kraftmusic Hey. Ive purchased Kraft products before. I am just wondering if the Nord is more of a digital piano than a synth? Im trying to choose between this and a motif(seeing the prices are different) for synths and techno would the nord be all i need.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

The Nord Stage's strong points are certainly acoustic/electric pianos and organs, but it also has a great sounding synthesizer section. That being said, the Nord Stage is strictly a performance keyboard and does not allow for any recording or sequencing. You can certainly record and sequence by connecting a Nord Stage to a computer. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
