  • IF YOU CAN'T GROW YOUR OWN HAIR, YOU SHOULD NOT BE A CONDUCTOR - I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BALD GUY SITTING AT THE WHEEL OF A LOCOMOTIVE.

BEFORE YOU ANSWER ROUGHLY TO MY ABOVE COMMENT, DO TWO THINGS:

    1) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR (THAT SHOULD PRECLUDE YOU ROUGHLY ANSWERING ME).

    2) UNDERSTAND I AM MENTAL CHALLENGED.

PLEASE ENJOY THE MUSIC, I AM GOING AND WATCH THE VIDEO: "YASCHA HEIFEITZ PLAYS WITH THE BOB WILLS BAND". THANK YOU, GOOD DAY.

    PS - OH, NEVER MIND.

  • @jehovahuponyou thats so mean! D: what if he has cancer! evil person! die!

  • @xTheRiotx

    I AM A MEAN PERSON.

HE COULD AT LEAST WEAR A TWO-PAY.

EVIL IS GOING A LIL OVER-BOARD.

WHAT A PROPET YOU ARE, LOOK SILLY, EVERYBODY DIES.

PS - I TOLD YOU TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOU HAD A SENSE OF HUMOR BEFORE REPLYING TO ME, SO SINCE YOU CAN'T DIRECTIONS I SUPPOSE IT WOULD DO ME NO GOOD TO TELL YOU TO "GET FUCKED", WOULD IT? OH WELL!

    :^)

  • Concertmaster = pissed

  • Great Violinist!

  • @vovoluluj Of course, she´s german, that says all!

  • This is perfection; the build up from different instrumental moments gliding through tonal landscapes and harmonizes with elements in the universe! Highly recommended for the stressed-up "urbanians". Why not as antidote to depressive attacks in ebbing tides.

  • QUERO TER UM MILHÃO DE AMIGOS UM MILHÃO DE AMIGOS QUERO TER

  • I think she is playing her Finnigan violin in this performance. Not her Strad.....big difference in the carrying power, albeit nice sound.

  • @jhglobal1 This isn't her Finnigan violin. This performance is from 1989, she didn't own the Finnigan then. Isn't it rather difficult to judge carrying power in a youtube video?

  • Hey Klibanarios - thank you for your kind answer! But I´m looking for the recording with Mutter and Ozawa!

  • does someone know, if this concerto does exist on cd? or, far better: on dvd?

  • @eshirin1 Deutsche Grammophon Herbert von Karajan edition with Anne Sophie Mutter. serial number of the cd 413 818-2.Good lyck to your search m8. :)

  • mutter usually plays most of the pieces slowly. but it doesn't matter cuz it still sounds beautiful.

  • slow but still good:D

  • great

  • genial Anne Sophie Mutter!!!!!! genial S .Ozawa!!!!! y orquesta

  • What a fabulous composition!

    What a fabulous performance!

    Thank you very much :o)

  • Huslový part nie je dobre nasnímaný. Niektoré pasáže úplne zanikajú.

  • :D

  • Безупречно!

  • Why does that guy keep bending over!

  • Wow, Ozawa looks so young.

  • I love her take on this piece! it's very operatic and she truly brings out the beauty of this particular concerto. Very very wonderful performance, bravo!

  • Is it me being too used to Heifetz's recording of this when I say that I like the tempo a little faster?

  • Again, no expression in her playing. Great performance. Miss Sophie Mutter makes that Stradavarious sing. I hope she puts some expression in Tchaikovsky. She didn't do it here.

  • @Videogamerfan1441 Stradivarius*

  • This is beautiful...horrible video/sound quality but still absolutely nothing less than ethereal...

  • @chobeethaninov I don't know what you mean by horrible sound quality. It's very good, and the video quality is good for 1989.

  • WOW! not 1 dislike...impressive

  • @MrGadzhiyev Already 2 =(. But well, they are still the 0.02% =)

  • This is still one of my favorite concertos.

  • Impresionante. Un gran concierto con los mejores.

  • How difficult an instrument the violin really is can be derived from the fact that even the genius of Beethoven saw it fit to compose just one concerto for it.

  • @bernard1422 Yeah, but he sure didn't go easy on the soloist. Not only is it a bitch to play, it's long enough that it could easily swallow Mendelssohn's twice over.

  • @MomSaysImCool Actually this is one of the more easy (technically) concertos for the violin repertoire. If you look at Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and many others, this should seem quite tame.

  • @IZachDallen not to say it's easy, not at all.

  • @IZachDallen No waaaaaaaaaaay jose. The challenges are more subtle, so you wouldn't notice it but this piece is harder than Mendelssohn's. I know this because when I suggested to my violin teacher that I learn it, she laughed at me and got me started on the Mendelssohn instead.

  • @MomSaysImCool Beethoven is the most mature concerto I know of. I'm not saying it's easier than Mendelssohn, because it's not. It is so musically challenging and so difficult to make it interesting. That's why it is one of the last concertos that should be on your repertoire list, all the others can teach you everything on that concerto and more about technical control about the instrument, but nothing can teach you about music like Beethoven can.

  • @IZachDallen True, this concerto is a lesson in stamina and musicality. This movement in particular can sound drab and monotonous without musical maturity.

  • @hrhsam The reason is because, in this particular case, it is played far too slowly. Mutter is brilliant, but Ozawa drags it along at a snails pace.

  • @IZachDallen I think, that out of the concertos that you listed, the only one that might be up there with the difficulty of this one is Sibelius. Mendelssohn and Saint-Saens are among the easiest of "real" concertos.

  • @sijas I agree; the Beethoven is definitely one of the hardest. I would add Brahms to the list though!

  • @94Mexico Don't forget Elgar's violin concerto.

  • @sijas Mendolssohn and Saint-Saens are not easy in the slightest, and you go learn the Brahms and Tchaikovsky and and Beethoven and see which ones takes the longest to learn the notes.

  • @IZachDallen didn't see that you put (technically). I was talking about the difficulty of bringing these pieces to performance level... in a case where technique is irrelevant.

  • I agree withgama540, Szeryng sets the bench mark for Beethoven, however Mutter sets the standatd for the Tcych Violin concerto. Her interpretation is outstanding in so many ways.

  • Listen to Szeryng if you want to get to the depth of this Concerto.

  • Really salute and harmonious, with its main violin virtuoso player, renowned conductor and his orchestra, bringing an eminent Beethoven composed rare. (wijonora)

  • Boy is this dragged out unmercifully as in we are playing " Beethoven" so get your

serious profound hats on -a good lesson

in how not to play this work .Dead on

    arrival .

  • She's such an elegant person to me, I love her playing.

  • Impresionante! brillante ejecución

  • Exceptionnel, coupé sur le final dommage!

  • Beautiful job:)

  • its too bad the precision of this recording.... its flawed in a horrible way. Otherwise a great performance by Mutter.

  • Every time I listen to Beethovens violin concerto I have the same reflexion. Why on earth did he make the introducion so long before the solist joins in. May be it was because he loved the symphony format so much? When I hear this performance my reflexion is that Boston symphony orch. has the same qualities as Berlin and Vienna symhpony orchestras. And Anne-Sophie in a young version is musically brilliant. She is also a great sponsor of new violin talents ex. Vilde Frang.
