Kobe is smart in that he knows what he can do; he knows when to shoot, when to drive, etc. He knows his abilities. Kidd can read the game better than anyone which is why he can compete at such a high level at 38 years old for a point guard. He's not a Shaq who can get by on size even with age, he's a point guard.

I think this was definitely one of the best Nets team ever. I remember watching both of these guys when I was little all the time, Man! It's unbelievable that Jason Kidd was able to lead this team to 2 NBA Finals considering that his Centers at that time were Todd MacCulloch and Jason Collins. He made Kenyon Martin an All-Star and was only his legit superstar teammate. Kerry Kittles, Lucious Harris, Keith Van Horn were solid in their roles but not superstars and Richard Jefferson was still developing to the player he is now. Kidd should have won that MVP instead of Duncan.

This New Jersey Nets team is so underrated and is rarely mentioned nowadays for their success during the early 2000's. He was never at one point the best player in the league...and as right now is showing...he played during a weak ass pg era where he was about the only very good-great pg.
