I don't know about any of the other avid lifters in the world but when I get to the gym I'm not there with the goal of looking around and judging people. 99 out of 100 gyms in the country are fucking judgement free gyms.

Regulating grunting? This is bad. This is not a charactor issue - it's natural. People sometimes grunt when doing rigurous physical activity.

Grunting can have "masculine" implications (never mind that my mother often grunted when cleaning up the house when I was little; never mind the grunting women's tennis players), so maybe that's why they ban it - they don't want people to be too masculine.

Well I go to a Golds where there are powerlifters, bodybuilders, lots of "regular" people, the elderly, skinny dudes, fat women, etc, etc, etc, and I can honestly say the only people that feel intimidated or judged are people with a massive insecurity complex. In general, I don't think anyone else really cares or notices anyone else in the gym or what they are or aren't doing. Live and let live, and that should include us "lunks," that like to throw around heavy iron.
