Nirvana thrashed the stage after they sang "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in SNL just around the same year (early 90s). The drums, bass, and guitar, also the amplifier was decimated. However, they weren't banned from SNL because the same year they would sing "Rape me" and still not get banned. And Cypress Hill was completely banned for smoking a joint and thrashing the drums? I think SNL had something against hip hop and the peopel involved in it. Grunge is just as violent as rap, so why?
