As much as I'm a fan of the Viper, the LFA did have to contend with other cars on the track but the Viper did not - track was empty. Even though they did not slow the LFA down much, just changing direction to go around the cars probably added a tenth here or there....
@svtcontour LFA fastest lap was 7:22 in the race. 7:14 empty track. lost alot of time but faster than not competeing as the viper was not in the race at all.

@ARMONI555 You can buy this LFA... There were only 50 made out of the total 500 base LFAs. Also, it IS street legal. It only has mods like suspension, tyres etc, just like a Spec V R35 GT-R. If it wasn't street legal then it wouldnt be tested under 'production car' on the Nurburgring...

If it wasn't for sale or wasn't street legal then they wouldn't classify it under Production Car in the Nurburgring Times against cars like GT-R, Enzo, Zondas etc, they would classify it under Race Car Times which obviously they didnt. The Nurburgring LFAs are about to (if not already) about to be produced for the people who bought them

@ARMONI555 LFA Nurburgring Edition is JUST a name for the LFA with upgraded aero parts, suspension etc. Just because it has 'Nurburgring' in it doesn't mean it was made just for that track. The Renault Laguna was named after the track and it's a four door family sedan so obviously people just do it to boost sales. Also, this Viper and the LFA NB edition have similar mods to each other if you compare their base models. Both have upgraded aero parts, suspension, handling, weight reduction etc.
@rwian Why the hell would Lexus make a 500k AUD supercar JUST for this track. Lexus made this car and named it after the Nurburgring just to take advantage of the name Nurburgring. Nissan has done the same thing with their R34.

Many cars were developed at the Nurburg ring but no car was developed for the nurburg ring. The english language makes it so you have to be extemely specific about what you say. All the cars that were developed at the ring are designed to be fast anywhere. The LFA used there was racing in a near stick class with a 70 hp detune. so yeah. the LFA is fast.

Why are all these idiots blabbing about the lfa being a race spec and the plain old viper being a stock street car? My buddies dad has an ACR and its a RACE car that just so happends to be street legal, no air conditioning, no radio, no power anything just a motor and two seats. Uncomfortable, hot, race car with turn lights and a horn. The lfa on the other hand is a super car, def expensif but twice the machine with all the creature comforts of a supercar.

The ACR is no race car. It's a Viper road car with a wing and new suspension. Plain old road car chassis, engine, transmission, and yes air conditioning. A Viper race car would be the ACR-X or even faster Competition Coupe which have stripped out interiors and chassis bracing unlike the road car ACR.
And in my opinion, those comforts on the LFA and similar cars do a lot more harm than good. Give me the Viper anyday.

This comparison is st*pid! The Gazoo Lexus LFA is a de-tuned version of LFA to fulfill the SP8 4.0 - 6.2 Liter requirements. It has been de-tuned to 480 HP and 7500 rpm. It also has weight tanks increasing the weight to 3300 lbs.
The road going version of LFA is 80 HP more powerful than the Gazoo racing LFA. This comparison is st*pid and apples to oranges. Put the Nurburgring edition Lexus LFA with stock super slicks and it will kick the Viper's a**!
I watch the vid again, and all I can say is OMG. Huuuuggeeee difference in performance leading by LFA. Cornering, pickup, breaking, straight line, unmatch to the LFA. Totally different class.
A real good race car is a car that connects driver to the car really well so that the driver can control the car like arms and legs and push the car to the limits of outer limit where each maneuver seem impossible. If you only argue about numbers from various drivers that test driver the car then you're wrong. LFA is the car that's build hand and hand with the driver.
@DeadSleepers The 7:38.85 time of the LFA prototype was done by AutoBild where it turned in the fastest full version Nurburgring lap time out of all the supercars (SLS AMG, LP570-4, 911 Turbo S, Weismann GT5, Nissan GTR etc.)
The reason why it is 7:38 is because it was with a passenger editor sitting and also it was the full 20.8 KM lap. Not just the northern loop. If you calculate without the passenger and just for the northern loop, it will be 7:20 - 7:22.

As much as I'm a fan of the Viper, the LFA did have to contend with other cars on the track but the Viper did not - track was empty. Even though they did not slow the LFA down much, just changing direction to go around the cars probably added a tenth here or there....

@ARMONI555 LFA Nurburgring Edition is JUST a name for the LFA with upgraded aero parts, suspension etc. Just because it has 'Nurburgring' in it doesn't mean it was made just for that track. The Renault Laguna was named after the track and it's a four door family sedan so obviously people just do it to boost sales. Also, this Viper and the LFA NB edition have similar mods to each other if you compare their base models. Both have upgraded aero parts, suspension, handling, weight reduction etc.

Many cars were developed at the Nurburg ring but no car was developed for the nurburg ring. The english language makes it so you have to be extemely specific about what you say. My buddies dad has an ACR and its a RACE car that just so happends to be street legal, no air conditioning, no radio, no power anything just a motor and two seats. The ACR is no race car. It's a Viper road car with a wing and new suspension. Plain old road car chassis, engine, transmission, and yes air conditioning. A Viper race car would be the ACR-X or even faster Competition Coupe which have stripped out interiors and chassis bracing unlike the road car ACR.
And in my opinion, those comforts on the LFA and similar cars do a lot more harm than good. Give me the Viper anyday.

I was one of a handful of people invited to the "Lexus Experience" at Infineon Raceway. 2 laps in the ISF, then 2 laps in the LF-A. Scott Pruett lead in an IS-F and I followed his lines in both cars. All I can say is, forget the cost, that car LF-A is a work of art. 140+mph feels like 65mph - hitting the apex at turn 1 around 90mph felt like 35mph - and the exhaust note is simply addicting!

@jass168 u may think the benz was quieter....but testing shows lexus had the lowest sound decibals of any car.....and wut car company doesnt share parts...u idiot...bmw straight six is in almost all their lineup...if parts are gud why change?...hence lexus being more reliable than any euro car....and GTR is quick...to 60..but that passes fast and every supercar including LFA passes quickly (breaks 200mph)...again...speed isnt everything....

This comparison is st*pid! The Gazoo Lexus LFA is a de-tuned version of LFA to fulfill the SP8 4.0 - 6.2 Liter requirements. It has been de-tuned to 480 HP and 7500 rpm. It also has weight tanks increasing the weight to 3300 lbs.
The road going version of LFA is 80 HP more powerful than the Gazoo racing LFA. This comparison is st*pid and apples to oranges. Put the Nurburgring edition Lexus LFA with stock super slicks and it will kick the Viper's a**!

A real good race car is a car that connects driver to the car really well so that the driver can control the car like arms and legs and push the car to the limits of outer limit where each maneuver seem impossible. @DeadSleepers The 7:38.85 time of the LFA prototype was done by AutoBild where it turned in the fastest full version Nurburgring lap time out of all the supercars (SLS AMG, LP570-4, 911 Turbo S, Weismann GT5, Nissan GTR etc.)
The reason why it is 7:38 is because it was with a passenger editor sitting and also it was the full 20.8 KM lap. Not just the northern loop. If you calculate without the passenger and just for the northern loop, it will be 7:20 - 7:22.

I look around the motoring world now and see Ferrari, Lexus, Nissan, Porsche - to name but a few - All endulging in the making of supercars, not to make good cars, just to make a car thats .4 of a second faster round a track than the next supercar, just to make a car that can do a 1/4 at 129 rather than 127. Its so hollow to say this car's better than this one because it's faster. Where has the passion gone? What about the engine sound? What about the way these cars make you feel?

I dont get haters O_o Toyotas are good cars- not very exciting, but good :) If i had 400k to spend on a sports car i would choose the LF-A, bc of build quality, sound and performance of course. I love the Viper, but its more a brute than a digital machine i prefere more. Its a matter of taste;
