Clarification - vessel in rough seas is not a Marine Atlantic vessel In recent days a video clip of a vessel in rough seas has been circulating via the internet and on some mainstream media television stations. The ship has been incorrectly identified as belonging to Marine Atlantic. The video clip was taken in 2002 in the Cooks Strait off the islands of New Zealand. Thank you to the many customers who questioned this video and have been assisting us in correcting the misinformation.

Don't you worry your pretty heads about MA going under, it's a Crown Corporation, that won't happen. This clips been around a long time buddy, didn't stop us taking $1.3 Mil a week last year.

This is one of the falsely labeled video on YouTube, showing a ferry heaving in violent seas, that is hurting ferry bookings according to Marine Atlantic. According to Marine Atlantic "It wasn't our vessel, and it wasn't even in North America, and as I hear now it was taken somewhere around 2002," Sources say the video was shot off the coast of New Zealand. The video should be removed.
