Very Very nicel. I like your voice. You were always on key. Good picking. You did this beautiful song justice. One of my favorite songs. I give you 5 stars :-)
Awesome, I really enjoyed this. The arrangement & speed are perfect , better than Sarah's McLachlan's synthetic version or (I can't believe I'm saying this) even Lightfoot's original .....I always loved his early recordings of this song, but after hearing yours, I have a new favorite.......less rhythmic , more melodic, just a bit slower......it's beautiful. The singing isn't perfect, but it doesn't matter. I think it makes it real & from the heart. Thank you for sharing this.
Wow that was fabulous- fantastic guitar and vocals. I've just recorded this but found the three Bm chords so difficult!-I can't tell you how many attempts it took me!! Well done!!!!
Yeah, you caught me in the middle of my Gord phase. It started about 1976 and at this rate it won't end for a few decades more... Glad you liked it up there in his homeland.
Dude, this is wonderful. I'm glad to see there are other Lightfoot and Croce fans out there my age (35). They were magnificent, weren't they? I have a question for you. Would you consider covering a few Chapin songs? He was great too! Try Old College Avenue, Remember When The Music, Story Of A Life, Mr. Tanner, A Better Place To Be, Shooting Star... or Sniper (hard one, very intense). There plenty to choose from. Anyway, thanks for what you've done so far.
Thanks man. They all were indeed magnificent. Their tunes resonate throughout my brain all the time. This is my way of "releasing" them... OD'd on 8-tracks during my formative years I guess. I did cover Harry's Cat's In The Cradle awhile ago, so check that out if you can. He has so many...will try to do more when I can.
Yes, been "gettin' my Gord on" lately...as you can tell. Hard habit to break. His work is full of endless, joyful discoveries such as this. Glad you enjoyed it, Pete.
I'm sorry to say that I haven't heard the original... that being said.. I can't imagine it played more beautiful than this. So pure. What kind of guitar is that... I play a classical and have been thinking of a change.
Hey, Jer... really glad you liked it so much. It is a great song that sets a familiar scene for anyone who has been kept away from their loved one for too long. 73
Hey, John, coming from you that is a really great compliment. Your vocals rival the best out here. Thanks for props on my playing...one of my biggest goals a year ago when I started playing on YouTube was to really learn how to play this thing, and thanks to so many unselfish folks out here I have picked up untold secrets and am having a great time doing it.
very nice. hey, how about doing a monologue intorduction before you sing? explain what you like about a song, how easy or difficult is was to learn and afterwards, say thank you? It'd be a great way for folks to learn about what you're all aboout. just a suggestion. good job on this one.
This is beautiful.
