This seems like a primitive approach, for those who aren't capable of prioritising their own time. I *always* check my email first, in case of emergencies. If there aren't any, I'll ignore what's there and get on with what I would otherwise be doing.
This tactic seems like it's only useful for those who aren't capable of leaving an email unhandled, and coming back to it later in their own time.
