He's not lipsyncing. This was his come back performance after Anselmo died and his fight with Sony. It was the first time it was sung live. Guys, I have done some investigation. This song has been taken from the November 1994 MTV Video Music Awards in Berlin. He couldn't have possibly lipsynced a song which no one had heard before:)
I probably think the song was first sang here and George would have then shot a video for this in Dec 2005. That's why it more or less sounds similar to the Official Video version of the song...
The song had been completely produced by the beginning of 1994 and it was presented as an original version so that the audience would hear how it really sounds like, and apart from his miming, it's easy to any musician to recognize the synth strings sound that he played on the song in the studio from the real orchestra that stood on stage as a decoration. That's why it's called a Show Business!!

As for the "s" thing. It also sounds the same.
It sounds like that when you put an effect which is so -called (Reverb).
Mainly it's used when a singer has a sharp accent on "s" & "f"
Thus, it becomes friendlier and more ambient due to character of the song.
The performence was typically promotional and that's very OK!

seems a perfect sinc but the depth in his voice..the graveliness goes against the sinc!!!! i love him no matter what...he still wrote and produced it and if he sang it live he'd do it well so what point are you guys trying to make?? seems pointless???,,,

Unfortunately he IS NOT singing live. This is the same audio waveform as the album version. Sorry to dissappoint. George Michael is still the best male vocalist in the world though.

He's not lipsyncing. This was his come back performance after Anselmo died and his fight with Sony. It was the first time it was sung live. The performance became the talk because they thought he was through. Sony records had to know they made a big mistake then. He had just made the older CD. Watch his A Different Story. It on the tube somebody videod it as DS-1 thru DS-6

I don't think that's the original audio from that actual performance. Even a pre-recorded lip sync always has changes, this is exactly the same as the album version. Any fan knows this. If this is how it was performed then I'm disapointed, but I know he would not do that.

I don't understand why some people have problem if George mimed on this song. Yes he did. It's an obvious sound of a production and it had to be introduced like on a forthcoming single CD. It was produced before he had his freedom from Sony Music. He never ever sung it live this way. It's just impossible to reproduce the same sound on stage. The studio and the stage are two different worlds in character. So stop cheating yourselves and take it easy!!

i'm pretty sure it wasn't lipsyncing.According to MTV, this is one of MTV Europe music awards best 10 live performance of the decade in history (90-99). MTV was showing it again and again back in late 90's too.

Guys, I have done some investigation. This song has been taken from the November 1994 MTV Video Music Awards in Berlin. He couldn't have possibly lipsynced a song which no one had heard before:)

I tell you how and the answer is too simple.
The song had been completely produced by the beginning of 1994 and it was presented as an original version so that the audience would hear how it really sounds like, and apart from his miming, it's easy to any musician to recognize the synth strings sound that he played on the song in the studio from the real orchestra that stood on stage as a decoration. That's why it's called a Show Business!!

No :( I listened/watched carefully and it is lipped. Try playing it simultaneously with the "prerecorded" version. He naturally sings so smooth and perfect, maybe he was saving his voice. He's We still love you George- forever!!!
