Along with Hall's imminent despise due to injuries and botched collagen injection surgery, I also predict that Peckham gets a reputation as one of the leagues cheapest players within the next few years. i agree with the oilers wanting to protect their young star, but i think it's a bit too much nowadays. now you can't even make a clean hit without getting ganged up on by a few players. i like the physical aspect, but i liked it the best when they would just push and shove, and then the next whistle they would scrap, or at least challenge them first instead of just throwing punches. not as much respect in my opinion. at least the refs know whats up and only give the one penalty to penner

Nice clean hit. I'm a diehard Oilers fan but even I can see he had his head down and got owned because of it. It don't see any problem in Penner and co. coming in straight after the hit either. @nirvanaonedge I also hate that as well, and the commentators make a big deal out of a headshot. I find the headshot rule is one of the dumbest in new rule to come in to the NHL. Sure blindside headshots shouldnt be legal when the guys defenseless but when you're skating down the ice with your head down, you deserve to have your head taken off. I did that every time I hit someone when I played hockey.
