  • Hello Guido; NICE WORK; I´m looking for a replacement of my Rotax 532, and honestly I don´t want to go to the 582; is just same problematic engine; just newer; who did the conversion for you? I would really apperciate more pictures if you can; my plane is a Avid flyer model B; how much Hp does your engine put out? and what was the weight with complete installation??

  • @wolves200 Hello; The conversion is home made according to drawings by the hand of the same person who designed the plane. At this very moment I am replacing the R1100RS by a R1150GS using the original ignition (+ added an second one) and injection. The former engine was rather old and served only for testing. I flew 27 hrs in total with carburetors installed instead of the injection. Now about to start the tests with the GS. If you have questions or want pics you can always mail me.

  • @wolves200 Total weight is about 78 kg. HP is not known exactly at the moment but should be around 85 @ 6800 rpm. On which E-mail adres shall i send the pics? What country do you live in?

  • @guido582 I sent you a private message with my e-mail address, I hope you got it, so we can talk off-line, thanks in advance

  • I send you a private message; because I Cannot see your mail either; hope you got it

  • I want to use this engine on my ultralight. Do you have more pictures of how you did the reduction drive?

  • Well done! What's your gear ratio ? Have you any problems whit this large belt ?

I gona use the same engine for a Bleriot IX replica, but I need 1:7 ratio because a 2.20 meter propeller ! ! First solution, 2 ratio stage with gears and chains, using a short drive shaft fitted on the top of engine case hummm.... what do yu think??

  • Thanks. Gear ratio is 1:2.6

No problems so far with the belt. Ground tests completed. Hope to perform maidenflight within 2 weeks. Propellershaft is also mouted on top of the engine. Detail foto's available if requested. Design is from Ultracraft. Is working properly with a 850 CC BMW engine for more than 1 year now. A collegue runs succesfully a Suzuki engine with gears and chains on a similar aircraft. Should be possible.
