Oh look! Home movies! I grew up in the area and my boys were born at Irwin Army Hospital (on post). Kinda makes me homesick, no good storms on a regular basis this far north.
My parents lived on base 1949/51. In 1967 a tornado destroyed the old "Bobby Shopping Center" just north of Ft.Wood. Dad worked for the FLW FD. They had to call out the MP's to stop the looting. I was 9 then and we lived in Doolittle.
I remember the wind blowing hard to over 2 hours that night. We were told the storm was heading for us but it lifted.
As far as I know New Years eve has never produced a tornado anywhere near this part of Mo. Awesome Footage.

The date in the heading is NOT correct. This was on Dec 31st, 2010 just over a week ago at present. One of the best vids I have seen yet from Ft. Wood. Thank you for posting.
So far this is by FAR the best footage I've seen of this. I live on the other side of Thayer Elem..it just missed us. Glad you guys are alright. Thanks for posting this.
