They still need blood to sustain them but they do not possess the ability to ingest and metabolize this substance via the salivary glands, which is why they do not bite someone to absorb the hemoglobin but need to extract and somehow alter it ( homogenize ? ) before ingesting

Wait a second, doesn't Commander Simms usually take you off the team if one of the girls get killed?
Why not use the clips where you save the girls by trapping the Augers, instead of the clips where the Augers succeed?
