its amazing this loco even made it into preservation. such a daunting task to renew those missing cylinders, tender, injectors and so much else. frightening to think, without those brave chaps who took it on, she could still be rusting away with no prospect of restoration
yep, cleaning out the smoke-box is a dirty job but someone has to do it! 7812 on the SVR has a rake-out ashpan, now thats when you get completely coverd in ash and water !!!

that is an absolute prick of a task no matter what loco, that and deashing, u always get covered in something but i still find myself for more
