Its all about what you are use too hearing but generally what I think is that the Tenor has a nightlife type of sound ment for deep seductive moments on the other hand, the alto has a brighter more rich sound that invites people like a beautiful college school girl but the Tenor is her night life .... Baker Street is such a landmark song for the alto so if you play it on a Tenor people wont respond to it as much as they would on the alto so Id say no... they are 2 different saxes

one more thing could you tell me if it is a big sound difference between alto and tenor? for example could one play Baker Street with a tenor or would it just sound "off"?

Yes, or maybe a Selmer Prelude Tenor... thats a really good sounding Tenor for the money ... it will really give you that Tenor dynamic.... I have not played the Yas 23 Tenor in a while, but I know its of really good quality for a beginner sax

No, for the design... The key positions, the alternate F# key, and ease of play. When playing this horn you can hear the tuning luxeries they added to the horn. Also the price compared to other Selmer horns is high but not the highest.... So intermediate to pro... leaning more to intermediate
