@Copwatchers I agree how something is presented is important but you do realize this is a VIDEO WEBSITE? LOL try a video next time ;) Other than that bravo ;)
Do you devote your whole life to tattling on the police? There are good and bad cops. Just because someone's a law enforcement officer doesn't mean they'll exploit and abuse every citizen. If you think you can do better, go apply for a cop job, if not then don't start shit. Most cops now have cruiser cams, recorders on them, and many other devices that help tell the story although some cops do lie, most do not. One spoiled apple can give the rest a bad name.
@tbsdrummer87 i agree with some of your comment ,unfortunatly it seems you have come across this channel and just reacted as you obviously have not read our channel description which clearly states we RESPECT decent law abiding police men and wome, some copwatchers are cops, the idea behind this channelis to exspose the poeple who join the police and do not carry out their duty in a proper and professional manner please get all the information before you REACT in the place of RESPOND,namaste
Its different because cops have badges. it is such a crises that cops behave like gestapo stormtroopers, that it doesn't matter what "good deeds" they also do. I could give a shit less if after actually doing something good, like prevent a rape or direct traffic, which they are paid to do, they beat the crap out of people and piss on the constitution.
I think copwatch is a good thing because it goes in line with checks and balances. The issue I have with copwatch is that they only post negative stories about police and I think that is hypocritical. If they were truly unbiased as they claim, they would not just post stories about police abuse. For example, the news reported a story about a cop stopping a rape of a young girl. In reviewing their websites, I have never seen them post anything good about cops, how does that make them different?
I am not saying that the good deeds should excuse the bad acts. I am saying you should recognize the good deeds as well. You call yourself copwatchers, ok, report everything. I find it interesting that you demand equal justice and respect from the police, but you dont want to show it. The point of copwatchers is to get the police to change, fine stop being a hypocrite and show when they are changing.
there are plenty of mainstream media programs showing us how good the police are the point of this channel is to show police brutality not the force as a whole it is to just as you say "show when they are changing" there is a militarization of the police system that isn't being held accountable and there more abuse than ever before and just because we only show corruption or brutality does not show that we do not respect the police we have utmost respect for them just not the bad ones
@Jmbk7278 It's like policing the police. If they are upstanding cops, then they are fine. Just like regular citizens. But when citizens, or cops, break the law, that's when they should be exposed.
@schadenfreudelolz22 I just think that it is funny I made that comment almost a year ago. As I previously stated 9 months ago, I agree with you there needs to be checks and accountability. What my concern is why not show that the police are changing, because otherwise it is just the same toxic loop.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper on May 26, 2009 signed what is titled "Ship Rider Agreement" with the USA this places Canadian Police forces at the disposal of the Pentagon and for those of you uninformed, take note the RCMP has and is a department of the "Canadian Armed Forces" that is the "military" and contrary to demo-cratic government policy and rights of the people the real sick knowledge is WHY? and WHAT For in the longterm? Educate yourselves people!

Is it really neccesary to edit the hell out fo these videos and put a shitty electronic music background to it? shouldnt the gravity of the actual events in the video be enough? i mean seriously... are you trying to bring information to light or are you just trying to make a name for yourself?
So you are saying that Cuffacop is lying? It looks to me that plenty of cops are held accountable. If a cop steps out of line then he deserves to be fired, and arrested for his crimes.
You are correct. Bad cops should be fired and prosecuted, which the are. I can promise you that more cops turn in their brothers in blue than copwatchers do. While cops turn their own in on a regular basis, copwatch ensures the protection of theirs, no matter what crimes they have committed.
Don't believe me? Just look at their own mission statement, it is right there in black and white. The major difference between cops and copwatchers.
@Copwatchers Okay, so please tell me how many copwatchers that you've turned in for breaking the law? matter of fact, show me where "any" copwatchers have turned in their own for wrong doing? Or are you guys guilty of being hypocrites for doing the exact same thing that you're accusing cops of doing? By the way, there are tons of links showing where cops have arrested their own...so let's see if this copwatch channel isn't hypocritical.
@mchtb1966 Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually have. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.
Hypocrisy is not simply failing to practice those virtues that one preaches.
@Copwatchers So then, in other words when you've seen someone breaking the law (even fellow copwatchers), you've turned them in? Or did you turn the camera off so that such law breaking wasn't recorded? If you have turned them in to law enforcement officers then I commend you. If you haven't, then I guess that means you're no better than the cops you're attempting to watch.
@mchtb1966 your question is purley hypothetical what if ,i suppose you would etc questions i cannot answer as i havenot found myself in the situation, but i do respect the rule of law in the form of common law the law of the land, if i saw anyone cop or not and had it on camera i would allow its use as evidence in a court de jure, it does not matter to me if the person is a cop or not i do not what a criminal eliment within my community, namaste
There is a militarization of the police system that isn't being held accountable. The republican convention in Minneapolis, Mn. is a prime example of that. Brutality there has gone unaccounted for and on some level was given the go-ahead. In the US the cops work for the corp. known as the United States. Not the people. I'm not bashing all cops but I am thankful I live in 'Mayberry' where the mindset hasn't changed as much. Big city orgs need to be watched.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP)07.02.08— Ronnie L. White, 19, arrested in the death of a police officer, was found strangled in his cell, Investigators from the FBI and state police are focused on guards at the suburban Maryland jail. An attorney for White's family said the young man's attackers "took it upon themselves to be both the judge, the jury and the executioner." County Executive Jack Johnson likened it to "vigilante justice." The state medical examiner concluded that White had been strangled.
Yes your right sir this case is about the worst crap in the world happening to citizens. thanks for your concern and video, I hope the offending officials get harsh penalties.
LOWELL,MA(AP)06.08.2008—48-year-old Robert Sweeney of Dracut, a Massachusetts Corrections Officer at Concord Prison, was arrested in Lowell on charges of possession and distribution of two pounds of marijuana, 100 bottles of steroids and six tablets of ecstasy. He is also accused of conspiring to violate the narcotics law.
If bad cops are taken off of the streets, then I'm all for it. But isn't this a channel for stuff like this to be uploaded? Instead of typing it, post video links. That way it seems to be a tad more reliable. Thanks
SPRINGFIELD,MA / June 16, 2008 - A veteran Northampton probation officer was arrested for the second time in a year on Friday for drug charges, according to police. Juan F. Latorre, 59, was charged with four counts of distribution of heroin, possession of heroin, school zone violations and conspiracy. The new charges come six months after Latorre was indicted in Hampden Superior Court for drug trafficking.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) 2008-05-23—One night a year ago, Rene Perez called police from a coin laundry, possibly seeking a lift to a hospital. Instead, prosecutors say, Mount Kisco Police Officer George Bubaris, 30, of South Salem, N.Y., drove him to Bedford, hit him hard "inflicting blunt force trauma to Perez's abdomen and left him to die. Bubaris is charged with second-degree manslaughter, unlawful imprisonment and official misconduct. He could face five to 15 years in prison.

You might be different but copwatch as a whole does NOT share your views.
Boston Globe / May 17, 2008--Roberto "Kiko" Pulido, the Boston police officer who enlisted two fellow officers in a brazen scheme to escort and protect cocaine shipments into the city, was sentenced yesterday to 26 years in federal prison by a judge. Pulido arranged transactions involving cocaine, steroids, and fraudulently obtained store gift cards and boasted of beating up people and setting up after-hours parties at which officers consorted with known drug dealers and prostitutes.
BOSTON (AP)11.21.07—State troopers have caused nearly 500 crashes in their cruisers over the past seven years, including instances in which officers were inattentive, speeding or following cars too closely, according to WBZ-TV. Analysis of 2,600 Mass. cruiser accidents also shows nearly 120 officers have had four or more crashes in the past seven years.
ARAPAHO, Okla. (AP) Custer County Sheriff Mike Burgess resigned Wednesday just as state prosecutors filed 35 felony charges against him, including 14 counts of second-degree rape, seven counts of forcible oral sodomy and five counts of bribery by a public official in a sex-slave operation run out of his jail.
oh dear so i missed two letters out anybody with half a brain would realise that it is a typo as sometimes my keyboard malfunctions ,and if thats the only issue im not that bothered ,the principle is what i am more concerned with, scumbag corrupt cops who abuse the power given to them by the public and who are an insult to the force,oh look i missed out a comma, crime of the century.get a life
All cops are untrustworthy and will remain so until their actions are scrutinized and judged by impartial citizen's panels. Their actions should NEVER be subject to 'internal investigations'. That merely exposes their corruption. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "The tree of liberty must from time to time be fed with the blood of patriots and tyrants." The cops have now become the tyrants. May their blood flow deeply.
Cops should be held accountable for what they do. I film the police doing their job and I post the good and the bad. I have yet to see some of the good.
I'm a cop, I have no problem with someone filming me as long as they dont interfere with my job. I wear a tape recorder and have a camera in my car, it keeps you honest and helps protect you and the public if allegations are ever made. There are a lot of good cops out there who get into the job to really serve and protect. I like helping people, period.
its good to hear from a cop,it is also nice to hear you talk of your passion for helping people, thank you, and as you say people should not interfere but just document what they see, like you say it protects both the police and ourselves, keep up the good work mate and thanks for your input
If this guy is real, he should be commended, but I seriously have my doubts. The account is closed, you can't really check him out.
I'm not paranoid or anything, I just always obsessively fact check and verify everything I read or hear. And I'm calling a rat on this one, I wish it weren't the case.
So let's say your out being the outstanding officer that you are. You come across a friend that you know first hand has no reason for violating the law. Your fellow officers are kicking the crap out of him when you arrive on the scene. Come to find out he looks like the guy up the street who just did a hit and run. When this goes to court for liability do you testify for your friend or save the jobs of your comrades and possibly become a police outcast?
But won't you admit that there are also bad cops who really shake the public trust in police? I'm not worried about great police such as yourself. Who I am worried about are the police who beat my ass when I was 16 and threatened to kill me if I told anyone. And all of this because some other guy decided to do a home invasion in the area where I was playing b-ball with friends. To this day at age 36 I have issues with police.
hey dude, there are very few bad cops like that, and anyway, how do you know they were not cop impersinators? just curious, im not saying ur a liar or anything like that
@trooper0096 Hello Trooper,I am really glad to hear you say this because you give us hope that some cops are still following the constitution.I am Australian but I love America and all she stand's for, my grandfather was born there,if America was to fall we'd be right behind you falling like dominoes. The world is watching and people like yourself make me feel good inside I hope you are able to convince other Troopers that it's the right thing to do,all the best from downunder.
Good little vid mate. I see your message as 'We do not hate the police. But we do not like some of the things they are doing against us without our consent. We want good police who are fair and know right from wrong.' I totally agree! Good coppers will agree with this message too. Copwatchers is a great idea and we will see this grow huge as the New World Order is being forced upon us by stealth and lies and deciet.
your vids were one of the things that inspired me to do it,and yeah good cops should see no threat in what this channel sets out to achieve in fact they should support it,if people want things to change and to have a say in what goes on this is a good place to start.
I appreciate the video guys, but there were at least 3 misspelled words I noticed after viewing one time. Makes the producer look uneducated and that's the last thing you guys need. Constructive criticism guys.
yeah i had noticed but alas too late as i had already uploaded it,i intend to do a proper vid soon, ive just been really busy and not had the time to correct it,it will be sorted soon thx for the comment
just be aware of what the job entails. many people complain about police doing what is required of them. Ask to veiw your local police procedure guide for more information on what is and is not policy. Good cops don't need more people telling them what to do.
The supposed "Good cops" need to be doing EXACTLY as the people are telling them what to do as they are servents of the people. The thing that makes "bad cops" bad is their unwillingness to do as they are told. The current militarization of, and escalating violent tendencies of cops is morally wrong and un-American.
they will go by the book. Not by what citizens at the scene tell them. Going by whatever people at a crime scene say can end up in chaos. So forgive me if I think doing "exactly" as the people say may be unadvised.
Citizens at the scene? Who said anything about that? WE THE PEOPLE....were gov. we are their employers. Violence against ones boss is not very smart...but...thats why their cops in the first place.
you said EXACTLY what the people say, I mistook that for whatever anyone tells them to do. if you're saying what I think you're saying, that cops need to abide by the rules in their police procedure, then yes, I couldn't agree more.
I want to see you guys stand up too Officer Rivieri

Thanks for recognising that some of us do practice what we preach rather than hating all cops like some people do. It's quite refreshing!

I have yet to see some of the good.
copwatchphilly 4 years ago
I'm a cop, I have no problem with someone filming me as long as they dont interfere with my job. I wear a tape recorder and have a camera in my car, it keeps you honest and helps protect you and the public if allegations are ever made. There are a lot of good cops out there who get into the job to really serve and protect. I like helping people, period.
trooper0096 4 years ago 10
its good to hear from a cop,it is also nice to hear you talk of your passion for helping people, thank you, and as you say people should not interfere but just document what they see, like you say it protects both the police and ourselves, keep up the good work mate and thanks for your input

If this guy is real, he should be commended, but I seriously have my doubts. The account is closed, you can't really check him out.
I'm not paranoid or anything, I just always obsessively fact check and verify everything I read or hear. And I'm calling a rat on this one, I wish it weren't the case.

Heh, should have specified: Trooper0096. I doubt he's a real trooper or even a cop.

tough job, nobody likes a cop till you need one.

To this day at age 36 I have issues with police.
drei22 4 years ago 3
hey dude, there are very few bad cops like that, and anyway, how do you know they were not cop impersinators? just curious, im not saying ur a liar or anything like that

Copwatchers is a great idea and we will see this grow huge as the New World Order is being forced upon us by stealth and lies and deciet.

your vids were one of the things that inspired me to do it,and yeah good cops should see no threat in what this channel sets out to achieve in fact they should support it,if people want things to change and to have a say in what goes on this is a good place to start.
djbreeduk 4 years ago

GameDrain3 4 years ago
The supposed "Good cops" need to be doing EXACTLY as the people are telling them what to do as they are servents of the people. The thing that makes "bad cops" bad is their unwillingness to do as they are told. The current militarization of, and escalating violent tendencies of cops is morally wrong and un-American.
HEYBUDD 4 years ago
they will go by the book. Not by what citizens at the scene tell them. Going by whatever people at a crime scene say can end up in chaos. So forgive me if I think doing "exactly" as the people say may be unadvised.
GameDrain3 4 years ago
Citizens at the scene? Who said anything about that? WE THE PEOPLE....were gov. we are their employers. Violence against ones boss is not very smart...but...thats why their cops in the first place.
HEYBUDD 4 years ago 2
you said EXACTLY what the people say, I mistook that for whatever anyone tells them to do. if you're saying what I think you're saying, that cops need to abide by the rules in their police procedure, then yes, I couldn't agree more.
