IIRC ... The box said you could only make 32 players but the cartridge had like a hidden database of rookies and legends. If you didn't alter anything when putting the name in, you could have like over 60 created players.
This game came out when i was in 8th grade. I remember putting codes in to get all the rookies that year. Garnett, Joe Smith, Big Country Reeves, etc. You could add MJ too. Jason Kidd couldn't shoot at all.
@MrDukeblue3 ha..good times fam, me and my barber were talkin about this game recently..do you remember the "code" (i believe it was a myth) that enabled you to play with the alternate jersey colors..i.e chicagos black road, charlottes purple away..lmao...those were the days
This one actually reminds me sort of of a Microsoft Basketball release the very same year on a PC. Obviously this is much more playable and better game overall but it kind of struck me when I thought of basketball and 1996. ^_^
That may be true. But still they do offer continuously through all those years great games. There's some crappy ones, obviously but there's plenty of gems there too. I think they're not as bad as they're appear to be.

wow!!! this use to be my favorite basketball game. when i was off from work would spend my weekend playing this game. totally addictive.
