  • Que música! Bob Marley era tão talentoso! Sou fã do Pearl, mas prefiro o som original, claro. Que música linda!

  • legal

  • please, can someone show me the differences between original lyrics and the Eddie´s version? :) thanks!

  • @angrest1 I love Eddie and PJ, but he's known for screwing up lyrics depending on how drunk he gets during the show off the wine. First mistake: was in the very first line he mumbles' fear of atomic energy.. bottomless pit" at 44 seconds instead of 'Oh pirates how they rob I, sold I to the merchant ship,. Minutes after they took I, from the bottomless pit''. @1:52 instead of "We've got to fulfill the book" he says " generation mumble mumble'

  • rehearsal on live gig ? why does everyone want to cover this great song without trying out first how it sounds and then realize to better let it be???

  • Thanks Eddie.

  • what a shitty weak version of such a fuckin classic son???

  • What happens at the beginning... :O Wrong chords? OMFG!

  • Garbage.

  • maybe if he knew the words it wud be alright

  • @valleyshrew Bob Marley wasn't homophobic nor was he a Christian, you should try doing your research and actually know something about him and listen to his songs before you criticize him. He may or may not have agreed with homosexuality (he never said anything about it in public or in interviews, to my knowledge), but he believed in love and acceptance for everybody, regardless of race or sexual orientation or gender or anything else. That's why he wrote the song ONE LOVE! sheesh!

  • What's not to like!? Great band, great singer

  • 1:05 Eddie looks like Ted Mosby

  • No one but ourselves can free our minds.

  • @valleyshrew bob marley wasnt christian. hes a rasta. n its got nothing to do with the christian bible. if anything hes more judaist than christian. one love.

  • @valleyshrew hes rastafarian not a "homophobic christian", you sound like a bible bashin freak mate, just fuckin relax. its not a christian song it a reggae song

  • @valleyshrew You know there's more than one book out there? It doesn't mean it's the bible. Not a christian song, nothing to do with christianity.

  • @valleyshrew smfh if you dont know who and what bob marley was, dont think you do and post a dumbass comment like this

  • VIVA O BOB

    VALEU EDDIE VEDDER

  • Vedder doesn't enunciate his words well enough for this to work...

  • if only he knew all the lyrics

  • @toonmili03 thats what i thought!

  • wont you help to sing! these songs of freedom!

this song can bring me to tears regardless of who sings it and i am thankful bob wrote it for all to enjoy!

  • dig deep live stroung and live free 1 love to all

  • I like Pearl Jam a bunch, but come on. Vedder has turned this into oversentimental tripe. PJ covers way too many songs as a general rule, and this one is a bit of a travesty given the deep meaning it had for Marley growing up in Jamaica and the role that he played as the voice of that generation. A lot of overblown mawkish intonations doesn't make an anthem.

  • @herodsfeast That's definitely one way to look at it.

  • emancipate yourself from mental slavery...

  • @italianoutlaw92 One of the best lines in any song EVER.

  • Jeeze, haters, show the man some respect, it takes alot to cover Bob Marley, especially this particular song. some people will just find something to hate in everything, won't they?

  • Yes I help to sing!!! freeedom...

  • i was there on that amazing Missoula day.

  • I Love Reggae and i Love Bob Marley and the Wailers music, and ive always liked pearl jam because my father listens to them quite a bit and plays their music on guitar/drums.. i woulda never thought in a million years id find them doin a Beautiful Cover such as this, Righteous.... The Singers Voice is so good

  • mumble mumble tryin be so cool mumble mumble gotta act like a rock star mumble mumble

  • @samsharpeye this man isn't TRYING to be a rockstar, he IS a rockstar!

  • awesome cover!!! bob would be proud!!!!

  • I love Pearl Jam but I don't like this cover. It was poorly done up until about 2:20. It was decent from there but the beginning was sloppy.

  • its good but in its own way, bad cover but i would love it if it was an original song for them, but its not great compared to bob marley.. but thats expected

  • This version SUCKS man!....sori Eddie. ur just a handsome face.

  • @livingwaters1123 heck No!! its just the quality of sound... if you listen carefully, you'll see that its a nice cover... :3

  • I think the best version of this song was by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros.

  • @raptors11111 or Strummer with Johhny Cash. By far the two best versions.

  • @alexcanale98 Yeah for sure! That version is amazing too!

  • @raptors11111 id say the best one is Bob Marley's :P

  • @19SFGA Por Que no te vas a la mierda!

  • Bob Marley would loved it :D I know it!!!

One good thing about music, when it hits you fell no pain so hit me with music!

  • Pearl jams day in the sun is long over.Just another commercial radio whore.Vedder talking about Marley is like that retard kid rock trying to portray himself as a good old boy and how he feels a connection with johhny cash. Please this is some tired shit.

  • @19thSFGA How is Pearl Jam's day in the sun over?

  • is not the song itself, its the message in it !!!

  • a los muchachos q les gusta el regue...deben saber q primero nacio es el rock and roll!

    Muy bien Eddie

  • Bob was one of the greatest singers of that generation.

Ed is one of the greatest singers of this one.

I bet these 2 dudes would have got along quite well.

  • @dethmag correction....was THE best

  • @dethmag your comment is fucking pointless.

  • @bobbyismysuperdog How is my comment pointless? You didnt explain. You are a complete idiot if you don't see my point. Now go milk your cows. Seriously though.. explain how its pointless.

  • @dethmag Both guys are great singers. now WHY THE FUCK would that make them get along? and it was pointless because no one gives a shit about them getting along....apart from them being at different times. FUCK YOU.

  • @bobbyismysuperdog Hey asswipe.. Rolling Stone magazine... 1999... Ed Vedder wished he knew Bob Marley because they share the same views on life, politics etc. He said he would have loved to have wrote with Bob so shut the fuck up chump change. Your comment is one of the dumbest I have ever read. Hit the books Meathead. THEY WERE/ARE SIMILAR ARTISTS,.... THATS WHY THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ALONG. You missed my point completely LOL you think I said that because they are both great singers? Fuck! LOL

  • @dethmag roflmao at the fail which you are.

  • @bobbyismysuperdog Im a fail??? HAHAHA buddy I just clicked on to your page and saw nothing but fuckin south park vids LOL what a joke, now I see what Im dealing with... Fuckin kids... Im done. Now I know why u just dont get it LOL

  • @bobbyismysuperdog The other thing that makes you look really stupid dude, anf young. You said no one gives a shit about them getting along?? What the hell is that? Like you know? LOL Shit dude, obviously I give a shit and I doubt I am alone. You need to be slapped around. Im done with you, you are not in my league.

  • @bobbyismysuperdog yeah you're punk. congrats. stop being an asshole on the finest peaceful song ever created. you need to find your redemption song after your comments.

  • Pearl Jam + Bob Marley = EPIC

  • He doesn't know the words!

  • Comment removed

  • Well it's still a nod to BOB

  • I respect Pearl Jam a lot more now, knowing that they like Bob Marley.

  • HAHA he's doing a fucking Jamaican accent, what shit.

  • bob alive...

  • bob marley and eternal, and their songs too

  • very very good but marley is marley

  • The begging contains some of eddies best mumble work.

  • the lyrics in complete reverse order.... still full props to the white boy

  • I don't think 45 year olds would still be considered boys.

  • Nice but..... WATCH THIS!!! /watch?v=vdP2pa2u-Dw

A cover of Redemption song performed by Intwine from Holland.

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO !!!

    BRAZIL.

  • pearl jam rule....

    but marley...

    OMJ!!!!!!! :D

  • I think this is a great cover. Love his voice.

  • I really like this.

  • I like this man...Good cover for sir Bob ;]

  • when is this recording from?

  • bob marley singing was 10 0000000 times better

  • Awesome!

  • a pretty terrible cover - sorry ed

  • bellissima interpretazione

  • WoOhOo the best song sung by the best singer!!!!! go marly, go eddy !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why on earth does everyone hate this. i dig.

  • Check out this song performed by Intwine in vlaardingen!!!!

  • he said he hadn't played it for a while, and just pulled it up to pay tribute to birthdat-bob. no wonder he gets it wrong a few places when he's probably mostly focused on playing it right ;)

  • we need bands that carry on the memories of music through to the future, not by shying away and backing down to do covers that prove to be difficult. I would like to think Bob would appreciate the attempts with a warm heart and smile which he had here on Earth.

  • @AngryCPU eddie claimed this was his first song he learned on guitar. hard to tell, as he was drunk a lot in the younger years. its not too difficult, Bob was all about spreading love, and anyone singing his songs of love and light only redeem&continue his gifts to this world. March's relix did an amazing yet short story on Bobs final days, how he hid what was going on, etc... all Bob ever wanted was the people of the world to be strongholds, bringers&spreaders of light&love.

  • @jenialgeier Incredible insight!

  • @AngryCPU ok kool, i can live wit that

  • PLEASE!! allobecus, DELETE THE COMMENT FUNCTION ON THIS VIDEO, TOO MANY SHITHEADS!!

  • great bandbut they hacked it big time. Oh well not ever song they sing can be great. My hats of for giveing it a shot.

  • seriously? man...of course he's feeling it. even i'm feeling it.

  • hoof.. wasn't feelin it

  • Awesome keep playin

  • BLASPHEMY! they're a pretty good band, but he really sucks at this song...

  • Like Pearl Jam, but... Eddie should never sing this song again.

  • Well done

  • You don't feel any passion for the song's message. Just average.

  • Pearl Jam, Muito obrigado! :)

  • Missoula Montana - 02-05-1995. Harry Adams Field House. right after this song, the BEST version of "Yellow Ledbetter" ever done was played.

  • Peepel sims not to si de revelation in dis song. Not a bad cover ov Tuff Gong's goodbye song though

  • cuando leo la traduccion del tema,me pone la piel de gallina!!ese romanticismo que irrumpe desde el alma del excluido reivindicando esa libertad que jamas terminamos de conseguirla!!

  • props to eddie vedder. i think bob would've liked it.

  • Salute to you my friends!

  • @ReomiPearl

yeah, Bob would have liked also if this rock star had remembered the words @ 1:50!

  • @rahinaa actually he messed up a few times with the notes and the lyrics throughout the song, but who cares? its beautiful either way, infact it gives it a unique touch! Nothing in life is perfect so be happy with wat you do get.

  • Im a fan, but if your going to sing bob marley make shure you do it right. Check out Redemption song by Cultura Profetica, and you will hear nothing like it.

  • GO WATCH THE CHRIS CORNELL VERSION!!! it is way gangsta.

  • whot is dope and whot do u chare is this guy is dopet i dont give a fuck live on love the song

  • This cover is average at best and even that is giving it way to much credit. Tete does a great cover of this if anyone is interested do a search for it.

  • fuck this is a gr8 bobby marley cover..even better...eddie at his best..eddie can pick any song and make it amazin better than the original itself..cos his vocals is the best..i like it beta n i listen to pearl jam cover rather than listenin to marley.."a redemption song"...a song about freedom!!! yeah freedom!!!

  • Comment removed

  • you guys shut the fuck up

    pearl jam is fucking dope

    and this is live

    its actually a good cover

  • 2:26 he reminds me of a warewollfe...hehe

And FUCK everyone that is complaining...

  • ok everybody calm down he actually did a really godd job at this, he doesn't show off any egoshit here he just asks for freedom all around the world, so please stop hating! it's not woreth it if you don't like this don't listen to it...

  • yeah, have to agree.

  • smh

  • there are so many idiots that don't know nothing about music!!

pearl jam , the best band in the world!!

  • i guess so. i mean if you're going to fuck up a song, don't do a half-ass job, do it like pearl jam and fuck it up properly

  • 2:22 fantastic *.*

  • How awesome! I love both Pearl Jam and Bob Marley. Bob and Eddie are two of my heroes in music. Actually Bob is my hero in life!

  • hey fuck you buddy you dont know the lyrics, either that or you dont speak english pearl jam is the shit and better than you will ever be

  • What a song...

  • Bob Marley is the best and if I was to pick He is the Best out of every famous celebrity

  • why do people need to die? if everyone calmed down for one week imagine how many lives could be saved..... Bob Marley was very influential..... how come everyone who tries to change the evil in this world dies..... Martin Luther King Jr., Bob Marley (he someone didn't kill him but the man that shot him tried...)

  • Long live this song's message. It doesn't matter who's singing it. I believe that's what the late, great Bob Marley intended anyway.

by the way, Pearl jam's one of the greatest ever.

  • i like it....it's good.

  • I Love this song, I love this cover, and I love Bob Marley and Pearl Jam... This song is spreading nothing but love, so everyone should spread love... and stop hating on Pear Jam, because they did a wonderful cover!!

  • you know what i hate pearl jam but this is alright

  • R.I.P Bob Marley.

  • wow. i was reading all of these comments going "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE FAGGOTS BITCHING ABOUT?!"

    but now i get it.

:[ i like pearl jam and bob marley.

    WHY DOES THIS NOT COMPUTE?!

  • Truly disheartening

  • NASTY. Too bad, really.

  • Well then i would like to heare you sing it then. come on, upload a video, you singing it, or admit that Eddie kicks your ASS!

  • You aren't too bright, are you?

First, I don't sing and never said I could. Second, it's Bob Marley's song, and I think that it is difficult to cover this song. I am expressing my opinion. I don't like the version.

I admit that "Eddie kicks my ASS"

    Happy now, Einstein ?

  • I love you PJ!!! High fives and hugs for destroying such a classic song. Long live Marley!!

  • SCREW YOU YHEY ARE THE BEST!

  • You are a pretty closed minded person.

Your "all caps" message comes through loud and clear.

  • Fuck you, winslowfam!

  • chris cornell did a far superior version, in my opinion though its still a beautiful, powerful song regardless of who does it. i suggest you all look into it

  • chris cornell did a far superior version, i suggest you all look into that.

  • rofl (he missed some of the lyrics ) but still !!! good job!!! bob marley n pearl jam (interesting combo but i luv them both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • so i spelt some shit wrong, drunkness does that, but ur still a fag and ur mom is a whore so thats all that matters as long as u understand

    fag whore

  • go fuck yerself fag, its one great singer playing a great song from an iconic artist and he sings it how hen wants cause hen is a god and thats what he can do, he could play it in french while in russia and it would be good, just like nyer mom, u fag whore

  • if you are going to cover a song...a great song... you should know the words. I love Pearl Jam but that was weak

  • seriously.... if they did a proper cover of this song....

HOLY Shite it woulda been a bit of history....

good try tho but man.... if u wanna pay respect.. pay it proper and dont say "probation song"

  • It sounds like he forgot the lyrics....he's mumbling.

  • Thank you for adding this. I thoroughly enjoyed this cover. How anyone can say that Pearl Jam butchered this song is an overstatement.

  • much as i love pj, not my favorite cover. joe strummer/johnny cash? now THAT was a cover!

  • my dog loves this, he sing along ^^

  • i just realized all the time i wasted reading this comments and i only can think that everywhere theres is somebody who fuck things up. i just wanted to hear Pearl Jam singing one of the best songs ever and i ended up reading a lot of insults and hate words. Live your lives and let other ones live. happyness to all.

P.S: if i have some typing mistakes i hope no one starts calling me moron, or ISSAC or whatever.

Bob Marley you should be alive, rest in peace.

  • Appreciation for music about something is severely lacking. Nice to know there are still people out there lookin' for it.

Keep on Rockin' in the Free World

  • and some

  • It's so cool that eddie vedder played this song.

  • i love eddie and bob love how he did a tribute its a very good cover and i think bob would have been proud to hear it.

  • yes peace man

  • Comment removed

  • Haven't looked at this in awhile, but it's good to see that somebody else sees this fool for who he is. Each one of the things you listed applies to my encounter with him. I wish there was an easy way to have scum like him removed from YouTube, if not the internet as a whole... Because of him, the thread totally devolved from a discussion about music, into a derogatory hate-fest. I know some people think it's wrong that I got into an argument with him, but I have to defend myself from lies.

  • you know, bob marley stood for peace and love. and during one of his songs on youtube you guys go attack each other.

    hypocrites. just enjoy the music

  • PEACE man....

  • @Pearljam1034 ....... i know EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN... i just commented on one for that exact reason

  • @Pearljam1034 ...you do know this is a joe stummer song right? bob marley covered it but yea i agree

  • @VitaILetum No its not.
