He may or may not have agreed with homosexuality (he never said anything about it in public or in interviews, to my knowledge), but he believed in love and acceptance for everybody, regardless of race or sexual orientation or gender or anything else. I like Pearl Jam a bunch, but come on.  Vedder has turned this into oversentimental tripe. PJ covers way too many songs as a general rule, and this one is a bit of a travesty given the deep meaning it had for Marley growing up in Jamaica and the role that he played as the voice of that generation. A lot of overblown mawkish intonations doesn't make an anthem.
